Chapter 5
Origins
Thanos smiled. It had only taken his spies and mercenaries' two days to find the part they needed to repair the warp factor. They were repairing the ship full time and the estimated time of arrival to Questworld was just two months. He was preparing his army for battle. Everything was now going perfect. Thanos smiled again, that gem was almost his again.

David looked at the holo cube and then at his hands again. "Oh my god,'' I said as I looked at his mess.
Not only had David disintegrated the holo-cube but he had put a hole though the wall! He walked though the hole in the wall and to the next room, and then walked back. "There's a hole in the next room too," he said meekly.
Then he brightened. "If Dad's dying I'm taking that murderer Thanos with me," then he added, "Adam, If we are going to beat him we are beating him together. I know what the note said and everything but I can't beat him without you. If we are going to beat Thanos, we have to do it together. And, If I die, I want you there with me."
I barely heard what David had said. I was still stunned at the damage he had done to the walls. "How...how did...you do that David?"
"Come here, I'll show you how," he called to me.
I was so frightened at this damage that "my brother" had done all I could say was, "I...I can't."
David used his telekinesis and made me float to him. "Think of you shooting an energy blast from your hands. You must think how much it will hurt them, how far it will go, then you must let your minds energy flow to your hands. After all that, you just tell it when to shoot and it will."
Calming down I looked at him, "Wow, you did all that on the spur of the moment? Not bad."
I walked outside to try it. First, I thought about Thanos, then I imagined shooting him to a crisp from about twenty feet away. Suddenly as an energy took my body not only did I feel power, I felt my inner self. "Now!" I thought as two green bursts of energy exploded from my hands. I smiled, David was right. There was also a new confidence within me. If we were going, down we would take Thanos with us!
When father had learned of our new powers, he was very happy for us and told us he knew we were special. When he learned about us reading the prediction, he called us into his room. As we entered, he motioned us to sit. "I know that all this has been an enormous surprise to you both, but you learned much from the note your mother showed you."
As we started to talk, our father motioned us to be silent. He started again, ''Now, you know how I will die, why I taught you two how to fight, who my killer is, and most important, things inside you that you didn't even know that you had. We are from a peaceful world, which brings problems. How are you supposed to know how to use your powers if you can't imagine hurting someone?"
David started talking, "Dad that encounter might not happen until you're 189." Father shook his head. I've had my spies tracking him down, he is currently about two months away."
I stood up. I had some questions that needed to be answered, "Two months away! How did they get so close? Why are they coming? We've got to get you and mom out of here!" My father shook his head and started to tell us how we were born.
At first, I looked at him strangely, "Didn't we have the talk about the birds and bees already?" But, this time Father told us a new story that few people knew. He told us about the gem, brought by the escape pod with the symbol of Thanos on it and mother touching the gem.
When we were kids, we thought we were special because of our gem, but we never expected that a part of us was not from this planet. We never suspected we were part alien. When father finished, we were tongue-tied.
"We should prepare," father said as he started to walk out of the room. Suddenly he stopped and turned around.
He walked over to the hidden safe behind a picture in the wall and opened it. He pulled out a cape and ring. "Here Adam," he said to me as he handed me the cape. He said nothing as he put David's ring on. David looked puzzled, "These are cool and everything but what are they for Dad?"
Father sighed, "You will know when the time comes my sons."
As we sat in our chairs David telepathically said, "Adam, my finger is to small for my ring." I whispered into his ear," Don't worry, it will grow on to you." Our father started walking for the door he stopped and said, "I know in my heart you will make me proud."
