All art and images of art are ©Ginger Marler. You can always ask me for permission if you would like to use them in any way. Thanks so much & enjoy!!

Since I last updated this page, I have painted four new pieces. One of them is below. As for the others, well I haven't gotten around to getting pictures of them yet. Keep looking for it soon, though!

In case you're wondering, I work with acrylic paints most of the time. They move like oil paints do, and the colors generally are very rich & vivid. The main benefit of acrylics is that there is no dealing with toxic solvents, and the paint dilutes and washes off with water. Once it is dry, it is basically an inpenetrable plastic layer.

Tiffany & Eric on the occasion of their wedding. This took me forever to finish. I'm just so nervous about people & faces. I wanted to get it as right as I could. The flowers took a while. I finally finished it about 6 months after the wedding. Tiffany says it hangs next to the photographed wedding portrait that I took inspiration from. (This picture is a bit dark - the painting is brighter.)

This was painted quickly one afternoon in November 2000, I think. It's a bit of a departure from my usual cat paintings because it really just started with a random brush stroke out of boredom. (This cat's butt has been cut off in the scanner, as it was too big for the scanner & I didn't have access to a digital camera. There's a few more inches of the picture to the south and west that just couldn't fit!)

Chibba Beggin. This is the look I get when she really wants what it on my plate.

Bucka's Dreamsicle. If you have met Bucky, you know that he is a Manx, and doesn't have a tail, but a nubbin. This is the Bucka fantasy version, hence, his "Dreamsicle".

Hanging on the wall at the old place:
Upper left: A watercolor of Chibba peeking out from under the couch. This was inspired by a photograph I took of her in that same act.
Upper right: Chibba Beggin.
Lower left: Bucka's Dreamsicle.
Lower right: A picture of Chibba perched on the arm of the couch. This is the first one that I did when I began to paint as a "grownup". My style is really still evolving. Sort of primitive/untrained/folksy. And I love bright/deep colors.

Here is the inspiration and the outcome, a closeup of the above watercolor. I painted the frame too.

I promise, they're not all cat pictures... I am always working on something, so ya'll come back now!
