The Ginyu Force is Frieza's special team of five fighting warriors that are assigned to the highest of importance in missions. They first appear on Name when Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta cause problems for Frieza. They're mission was to bring Frieza a scouter, locate the dragonball, and kill Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan. They set out to get the dragonballs when they met up with Vegeta. After stealing all of the dragonballs but two Vegeta told Krillin to destroy his and he threw his as hard as he could in the opposite direction. Guldo used his time freezing ability to stop Krillin from destroying the dragonball. Burter used his super speed to pic up the ball that Vegeta threw. With all seven dragonballs Captain Ginyu reported back to Frieza. The other four members Burter, Recoome, Jeice, and Guldo stayed behind to finish of Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan. Guldo was up first but Gohan and Krillin fought him together. With talented maneuvers Guldo found himself scared so he used his time freezing ability and ran away. After feeling like a coward he buckled up and took the fight head on. He then used his body freezing ability and froze Krillin and Gohan in their tracks. Guldo then tore a tree from the ground and threw it at Krillin. With a split second Vegeta stepped up and cut Guldo's head off. After seeing their comrade over powered the rest of the Ginyu Force battle in a ridiculous "Rock Paper Scissors" game. Recoome was the winner and gladly stepped forward to avenge his teammates death.

Recoome Faces Vegeta and it seems that Vegeta may win but Recoome proves that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Recoome plays around with Vegeta and almost kills him when Krillin steps in and kicks Recoome in the face and Gohan knocks Vegeta out of the way. Recoome then takes the fight to Krillin and Gohan. Krillin is defeated with a kick to the head which leaves Gohan by himself. Gohan fights Recoome but he too cannot match his power. Recoome was just about to kill Gohan, the same way Nappa was, when Goku quickly scooped his son from the ground. Recoome underestimated Goku's abilities and left a weak spot open. Goku being the hero elbowed Recoome in the gut. Recoome was hurt but not dead. Jeice and Burter thought that they could scare Goku with their arial acrobatics but Goku was not fazed. Burter ended up hurt along with Recoome and Jeice ran to Ginyu. Vegeta didn't want to allow Burter or Recoome to heal so he killed them. Jeice returned to Goku and Vegeta with Ginyu. Goku thought that Vegeta would help him fight Ginyu and Jeice but he proved to Goku that he was on Namek for himself.

Ginyu and Goku began to fight. After a little warm up Ginyu wanted to know how strong Goku was. Goku should Ginyu how strong he was and Ginyu switched bodies with him. Before switching bodies Ginyu punched a whole in his chest. This way Goku wouldn't be a threat to Ginyu in his body. Ginyu left Goku to die and headed to Frieza's ship. There he tricked Krillin and Gohan into thinking he was Goku and tried to get the best of them. Vegeta saw through his trick and they began to fight. Goku eventually caught up with them and helped out. Vegeta later killed Jeice and joined the others in fighting Ginyu. Vegeta gave Ginyu a serious whipping and almost killed Ginyu. With a desperate act Ginyu tried to switch bodies with Vegeta. At that moment Goku switched bodies and was bak in his own body. Ginyu knew that Vegeta couldn't kill him so he let his guard down so his body would be badly damaged. Goku warned Vegeta but he wouldn't listen and Ginyu used his body switching technique. Goku picked up a frog that was near by and threw it in the way of the blast. Ginyu is now in a frog body.

Later Ginyu caught up with Bulma and switched bodies with her. After Gohan found out what was going on he quickly threw Bulma, the frog, in the way of the blast and Ginyu was back in the frog body. Back in Other World, King Kai invited the Ginyu Force to his planet where they would give Yamcha, Tien, and Chout-zu a good sparing lesson. After getting what King Kai wanted from them they were sent to Hell. The Ginyu force is then seen a few DBZ and GT episodes and Movie 12 when Janemba played with the fabric of space.
