Transformations
Goku
SSJ- While fighting Frieza after Krillin's Death. When Frieza killed him, his anger was released causing him to transform.
USSJ- In the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, he pushed himself hard enough to achieve all three forms of the Ultra Super Saiyan form. He was was even able to stay in the first form of this in every day life.
SSJ2- He achieved this level while in the afterlife after being killed by Cell.
SSJ3- He achieved this level while in the afterlie after being killed by Cell.
SSJ4- While fighting Bebi, he transformed into a Golden Oozaru, then when he noticed Pan crying, he reached the ultimate trasformation.
Gohan
SSJ- He reached this level with the help of his father, Goku, while training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Goku pushed him beyond his limit, causing him to transform.
USSJ- Gohan skips this level and goes straight to SSJ2.
SSJ2- He first achieved this level in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber while training with Goku. He fainted shortly after turning this, so he didn't relize the transformation. He didn't reach this again until first seeing his friends being beat up by Cell Jrs., then seeing Android 16's head being smashed by Cell.
SSJ3- Gohan did not reach this level because he is only a Half Saiyan which can not go beyond Super Saiyan 2.
SSJ4- Gohan did not reach this level because he is only a Half Saiyan which can not go beyone Super Saiyan 2.
*Mystic Saiyan- This incredible level was reached only by Gohan after training with Kaioushin. This is where Gohan's hidden power is truly released.
Vegeta
SSJ- Vegeta reaches this level while training in space. When his techniques fail, he turns Super Saiyan from the anger of not reaching it.
USSJ- Vegeta reaches this level while pushing himself in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. In this level, he is known as Super Vegeta.
SSJ2- He reaches this level when turning into a Majin after learning it gives you more power.
SSJ3- Vegeta skips this level because of cheating for the next level.
SSJ4- He reaches this from a ray created by Bulma, called the Brute Ray.
Goten
SSJ- Goten reaches this level because he is born with Super Saiyan blood in himself.
USSJ- Goten does not reach this level.
SSJ2- He doesn't reach this level.
SSJ3- Goten only reaches this level while fused with Trunks, as Gotenks.
SSJ4- Goten doesn't reach this level because a Half Saiyan can not go past Super Saiyan 2. (He reaches SSJ3 because both him and Trunks are Half Saiyans, and two halves make a whole).
Future Trunks
SSJ- He reaches this level after a long time of hard training, then seeing his master Gohan get killed by the two Androids, 17 and 18.
USSJ- Trunks reaches this level while training with Vegeta in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. He reaches all 3 Levels.
SSJ2- As far as we know, Trunks does not reach this level.
SSJ3- Trunks cannot reach this level since he is a Half Saiyan.
SSJ4- Trunks cannot reach this level sicne he is a Half Saiyan.
Trunks
SSJ- He reaches this level while training with his father, Vegeta, in a Gravity Room.
USSJ- Trunks does not reach this level.
SSJ2- Trunks does not reach this level.
SSJ3- Trunks only reaches this level as Gotenks (same reason for Goten).
SSJ4- Trunks does not reach this level because he is Half Saiyan.
