Koola's team makes it on the scene in movie 5. They spot Goku's space pod flying away from Planet Vegeta just before Frieza wiped the saiyan race out. They wonder if they should shoot it down but Kooler tells them to leave it alone. They were flying in Frieza's area and it was Frieza's problem. Kooler felt that it was Frieza's responsibility. Goku safely makes it to earth and the Frieza saga ends. Kooler is upset that his brother is dead. He sends his team to earth to kill everyone on earth and to then destroy it. When they arrive they spot Gohan, Krillin, Oolong, and Ecirus (Gohan's Dragon) camping out near the river. Sauzaa took Krillin out and Doore grabbed Gohan's tail. Doore then slung Gohan around in the air like a yo yo.

Goku saw what they were doing and demanded that they stop. He introduced his self then they began to fight. Before fighting they performed a short dance similar to the Ginyu force. Doore grabbed Goku but he escaped and Neizu kicked Doore in the face. Kooler showed up after Goku proved that they were no match for him. Goku had mistaken Kooler for Frieza and Gohan leaped into the air looking for Goku. When Kooler saw Gohan's tail he shot his laser eyes at him but Goku took the blast in the back.

Gohan went to Korin's tower for some energy pills (senzu beans) and headed back for Goku. He didn't fly because he would be using his power so he took Ecirus. On the way back Ecirus was burned out but Gohan gave him a senzu bean. Ecirus' power increased somehow and his energy showed up on their scouter. They tracked Gohan down and shot Ecirus down. They were going to kill Gohan when he refused to give them the bag of beans when Piccolo showed up. Piccolo easily killed Doore with a tracking energy wave. He then used Neizu's attack against him. Kooler saw Piccolo's power and didn't want him to interfere with his mission. So Kooler shot Piccolo up and brought him to Goku.

Before Kooler caught up with Goku Gohan was about to give him the senzu bean but Sauzaa shot and burned the bag. Krillin fought Sauzaa but got knocked around. This gave Gohan time enough to remember the other senzu bean that Yajirobi gave him. He fed it to Goku and went to fight Sauzaa. Sauzaa beat him down too but Goku showed up. His power destroyed the scouter and threw Sauzaa into the ground. Goku ended up killing Kooler but was exhausted and had nothing left. Sauzaa came from the ground and began laughing; he began making an energy blast but Piccolo came form the shadows and killed him.
