The Majin Team started with Bibidi, Babidi's father, creating his most cherished creation Buu. Buu was designed to kill and dominate. With Buu, Bibidi thought that he could take over the world. But in a turn of events Buu absorbed Dai Kaioshin which changed his attitude. Bibidi didn't like Buu's new character so he sealed him in a cocoon. After Bibidi died his son, Babidi, set out to revive Buu so that he could finish up his fathers work. With his journeys throughout the galaxy searching for Buu Babidi managed to gather a group of creatures to serve his will. Bibidi and Babidi had will ability to turn any person with the slightest amount of evil in the bad. His main body guard, Dabura, was lord of the other world and with the evil in his heart Babidi managed to manipulate him into serving him. Babidi made his way to earth and picked two humans, Spopovich and Yamu, to go to the worlds tournament to gather the energy from the strongest warriors. They needed pure energy so they took the energy from Gohan. When they gave the energy to Babidi he killed them and took the energy. Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and Supreme Kai entered Babidi's ship and had to go through a series of fights to reach his main chamber.

Vegeta fought Pui Pui first. They fought on Pui Pui's home planet which was ten times as heavy as earth's gravity. Pui Pui thought that he had an advantage but Vegeta normally trained at four hundred-fifty times normal gravity. Pui Pui died and Goku was up next. Goku fought Yakon on his home planet which was pitch black. Goku played around and killed Yakon without touching or shooting him. Gohan fought Dabura next but Dabura proved to be a strong fighter. Dabura stopped the match and told Babidi that he would be recruiting a new fighter. Babidi then used his magic to manipulate Vegeta's mind. Vegeta then turned on the others and gave Babidi the energy he needed to revive Buu.

Vegeta later revealed to Goku why he allowed himself to be controlled and knocked Goku out so that he could regain some respect for himself. He knocked Goku and went for Buu. Vegeta fought Buu with all he had but Buu proved to be too much and Vegeta exploded in a last attempt to kill Buu. Though his intentions were good, making him a Z-Fighter again, he still could not kill Buu. Bibidi's creation could not be stopped. Goku later tricked Buu into killing Babidi and he was left alone. Buu became good and released the evil inside himself. He then fought with Goku and Vegeta again. After a long battle and a few Fusion techniques Goku was able to kill Buu once and for all.
