DECEMBER 19
WWF News : Radicalz, Mick Foley, HBK, Wrestlemania, Bull Dog, More..

Eddie Guerrero will be off TV for a couple weeks recovering from a hamstring injury, which may also actually have a tear in it. It does not require surgery at this point since it is believed that some rest will do it good. Perry Saturn jammed both his thumbs at the Armageddon PPV but won't be missing any time. Mick Foley's wife Colette will be having the couple's third baby in about two weeks and due to the incidents on RAW, Foley has been written off of TV so he can be with his family at this time. There is a slight rumor that Vince McMahon could announce William Regal as the new commissioner. Triple H is receiving electrical stimulation as one of many procedures in his recovery from a herniated disc. There may be several stumbling blocks preventing Shawn Michaels wrestling at Wrestlemania X-Seven. For one, there are no storylines currently envisioned to work him onto TV and none of the top guys are apparently anxious to work with him with some even not wanting him back in the locker room after what he has said in the past.

Once the WWF sells 66,000 tickets for Wrestlemania X-Seven, they will begin hyping it as a sellout. Davey Boy Smith, the British Bulldog, is still under WWF contract but there are absolutely no plans in place to bring him back. The WWF has signed 6-10, 350-pound athlete Nathan Jones to a developmental deal. Jones was one of the top performers in the World's Strongest Man competitions. The 1/11 Smackdown! program will be 90 minutes in length because UPN is placing the pilot of "Gary and Mike" in its prime time slot to build from the wrestling lead-in. The 12/5 Smackdown at MSG in New York, NY sold out with 13,617 fans paying $376,301. RAW on 12/11 in Memphis drew 13,893 paying $374,055. The 12/10 Armageddon PPV drew 11,924 paying $573,990.

WWF/WCW News : Triple H, TNN/RAW, WCW Sale, Fight @ Nitro, more..

As reported before, Triple H wrestled the Armageddon PPV with a herniated disc in his lower back but did not suffer any pain during the actual match. Orginally, HHH was going to suffer a "serious injury" during the Hell in Cell bout but the WWF decided not to water down the Rikishi bump by having Triple H also sell an injury. Instead, they just played it up the next night that he had aggravated a prior problem. TNN issued a press release last week touting the growth of its primetime audience as the highest ever, and that it finished number eight on the cable network charts in the adults 18-49 demographic. TNN had the biggest increase among all non-news cable networks from one year ago and its primetime rating rose 0.7 from last year. Diane Robina, general manager of TNN attributed some, if not all, of the success to the WWF's hit TV show "RAW is WAR". A Minnesota agency has determined that Jesse Ventura is not in violation of ethics regulations by associating with the XFL. Environmental activists had argued that Ventura had used his position as Governor to secure benefits not available to the public, however, given that Jesse previously was announcer for both the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers helped disprove that theory.

WCW head Brad Siegel met with the WCW front office department heads on Friday, but didn't announce anything that the employees didn't already know. He said he was in the midst of serious discussions with a particular party but would not state names saying that he was bound by a confidentiality clause. He said if he did say anything, it would be on internet websites within hours. A deal headed by Eric Bischoff still has not been finalized due to lack of funding. There is fear amongst mid-card wrestlers that if and when Eric Bischoff would gain control of WCW, he would use Hulk Hogan, Dallas Page and Kevin Nash as members of the booking committee. Scott Hall's estranged wife, Dana, recently criticized Dallas Page, Kevin Nash and WCW for using his name on TV and encouraging and urging him to come back. Dana said that Scott's addictions are so bad that his supposed "friends" refuse to acknowledge that he lost his job due to his drinking rather than the other way around. The WWF has told its former ECW wrestlers that they will let them work ECW events on their days off as long as they first clear with the front office.
