DECEMBER 25

WWF RAW is WAR : 12-25-00
Location: Chattanooga, Tenn.
Commentators: Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler
Report by: Webmaster

Jim Ross opened RAW is WAR by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came to the ring, all decked out as one of "Santa's Little Helpers"...and she looked festively HOT! Stephanie grabbed the microphone and declared that the McMahon's are currently in the festive spirits. She told everyone that her father Vince was taking time out to volunteer at a soup kitchen in Connecticut. She also said that her husband was in the spirits to be in attendance tonight, and she said she also baked a special "fruitcake" in honor of her mother.

Stephanie then showed highlights from Smackdown last week, as the Undertaker and The Rock glared at each other. Stephanie said that both men were wondering who the better man was. Vince booked a match to determine who the better man was, and the Rock would face the Undertaker tonight on RAW. She said that neither man was afraid of the other, and that they would determine whom the better superstar was. Stephanie then introduced the new WWF Tag Team Champions, Edge and Christian, and the WWF Champion Kurt Angle.

As Stephanie applauded in the middle of the ring, the three titlists made their way to the ring, also decked out in festive wear. Edge wished the McMahon's a totally Merry Christmas. The only regret for the holidays was that Mick Foley was not around to celebrate the holidays. Christian said it was a shame that Vince didn't wait to fire Mick so he could be with his people in Chattanooga...fat losers.

Christian then ordered a replay of his tag title win from Smackdown, when he and Edge, with a lot of help of Kurt Angle as special guest referee, "captured the titles" from the Rock & the Undertaker.

Kurt said that there was nothing better than to spend Christmas than with his fans, but he said that fans in this town were foul smelling and they gave him the creeps. He decided to fly out his entire family to RAW for the holidays.

A gaggle of Angles made their way to the ring, led by Kurt's brother Eric. Kurt introduced his family to everyone. Kurt boasted his family was the best that any man could have. Kurt told everyone that when he made his point with Mick Foley last week, that the only way one could do so was to hit "the problem on the head".

As the crowd chanted Foley's name, Stephanie asked how many times they had to be reminded that he was fired, and Kurt added..."Its True...Its True".

Kurt then led a hideous rendition of "Winter Wonderland" with his family as Edge and Christian accompanied them on Kazoo's. Just as they reached the chorus, the Y2J Countdown started.

Jericho came out and welcomed everyone to RAW is JERICHO...otherwise known as "Revenge of the Nerds" where the Angles are concerned, and he asked them all to shut the hell up. Jericho said that they shouldn't be singing Winter Wonderland that they should be singing the 12 Days of Christmas. Jericho ran down all the people in the ring, as only Y2J could. He insinuated that the Angles' will never get laid, there were 2 valley girls accompanying them, and one "sleazy, dirty, bottom feeding trash bag ho". Y2J asked for a title shot against the WWF Champ later on RAW, but was denied by Stephanie. She then asked Jericho if he wanted to face the WWF Tag Team Champs & WWF Champs, with two partners of his choice. Jericho then apologized to Stephanie for not getting her a gift, but then again, Jericho asked, "What do you get a girl who has had everybody....??" Ouch!!

Y2J accepted the match, and told Edge and Christian to get their kazoos warmed up cause his partners would be "getting the tables"...

So our match is set for later. Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian vs. Y2J & The Dudley Boyz!

Coming back from the break, we saw Kurt Angle taking his family on a tour of the arena, and he introduced them to K-Kwik...who replied "Now that's' what I call a VERY White Christmas!"

As the Radicalz made their way to the ring for the opening contest, the Hardy's told Lita that they preferred she not accompany them to the ring, given the recent history between all parties involved. Highlights were shown from last night on Sunday Night Heat where Lita spoiled Dean's Christmas surprise for her.

Match 1: Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko vs. The Hardy Boyz
All four men start pounding on each other, and Matt Hardy and The Crippler take the fight to the floor to start off. Jeff then executed a suicide dive over the top rope onto both men on the arena floor. As Lita watched on from the floor, Dean Malenko worked over the knee of Jeff Hardy. Dean tagged in Benoit who covered the fallen Hardy for a two-count.

During the match, the King teased knowledge of the first two competitors in the Royal Rumble.

Matt Hardy tags in and takes out both of the Radicalz. Matt & Jeff then double-teamed Dean Malenko. Malenko battled back and tried to execute a top rope suplex, but Lita entered the ring and gave Dean a lowblow. As Malenko crumpled to the mat, he was pinned by Matt Hardy. After the match, Malenko attacked Matt with a Texas cloverleaf. Lita tried to help out but was slapped into the Crippler Crossface as we headed to another commercial break.

Winners: The Hardy Boyz by pinfall.

Backstage, the Hardys told Lita she shouldn't have been out there. As she was receiving medical attention the Radicals taunted the Hardys and Lita.

Outside, Michael Cole tracked down the Rock as he arrived at the arena and informed him that there was a huge match signed for tonight.

We quickly went back inside, where Debra was interviewed by Kevin Kelly. She said that she missed Foley, and she booked a triple-threat for the hardcore title in Mick Foley's honor, with Raven and Hardcore Holly facing Steve Blackman.

Stephanie McMahon was shown talking to her father on speakerphone who was driving to the soup kitchen. Vince expressed approval with the matches that were booked for RAW tonight, and he said things were going well at the soup kitchen. A female voice was heard and Stephanie was irate. It sounded like Trish Stratus. Vince covered up by saying the female voice was that of a homeless woman at the soup kitchen. Stephanie asked her father to put her on the phone, but Vince hung up on her before she could talk to the woman. Stephanie slammed down the phone in disgust.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown pacing in the backstage area, and Michael Cole tried to interview him. Michael showed footage of the results of the attack of Kane on Smackdown last week, where Austin demanded a match with Kane for tonight. Austin said that Christmas is the season for giving, and he would give Kane a real big can of "Whoop-Ass". He also said it would be a Stone Cold Christmas for Kane...Cause Austin Said So!

Match 2: WWF Hardcore Title Match
Hardcore Holly vs. Raven vs. Steve Blackman (C)
Raven entered the ring, with lots of plunder to use for this match. Before Blackman could enter the ring, Hardcore Holly jumpstarted the match by attacking Raven. Hardcore Holly crowned both Raven and Blackman with a trash can lid. Raven then fell forward into the crotch of Blackman for a two-count as Holly pulled Raven out of the ring. The action spilled into the crowd as all three men pounded on each other with trash can lids. Holly whipped Blackman into the security barriers, as Raven watched on. Raven then took the battle to Blackman behind the curtain. As they continued to fight on, they took the battle to some innocent bystanders who were observing backstage. The fight then went outdoors as Raven took a spill down a flight of steps. Hardcore Holly was pinned by Steve Blackman after he was suplexed on the hood of a car.

Winner and still WWF Hardcore Champion: Steve Blackman by pinfall

As Blackman re-entered the building, the 24/7 rule was in effect, and Raven knocked out him out cold with a 2x4 to become the new WWF Hardcore Champion!!

Winner and NEW WWF Hardcore Champion: Raven by pinfall

William Regal made his way to the ring as we returned from a commercial break. Regal grabbed the mic and addressed the crowd about Holiday Over-Indulgence. He said that Americans at this time of year after overeating at Christmas dinner, that they rudely belch and pass wind at the dinner table...otherwise known as "fahting" in American speak. The pyro of Kane hits and Kane makes his way to the ring.

Match 3: Kane vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Regal takes a seat at the announcers table and tells everyone that he is disgusted by continued interruptions by Austin lately. As the match headed outside the ring, Kane whipped Austin over near the commentators. As he ran towards the table, Regal attempted to attack Austin, but Austin took him out with a clothesline.

Austin then continued to open his special "can of Christmas whoopass" on Kane. As the match continued, Regal proclaimed that he was molested by Austin. Back in the ring, Kane attempted another boot to the face, but was foiled when Stone Cold executed a back heel trip and pounded on Kane.

Kane recovered and repeated bashed Austin's knee into the ringpost. Lawler revealed that the first competitor for the Royal Rumble was the "Big Red Machine" Kane! Kane hit Austin with a thunderous clothesline for a close 2-count. Austin clutched his back as Kane picked him off the mat and Irish whipped him into the corner. As Austin lay prone on the mat, Kane put the boots to him. Austin attempted to battle back, but Kane continued his domination of the Texas Rattlesnake, by reversing a suplex attempt into one of his own. Kane then trapped Austin in a bearhug. Stone Cold pounded his way out of the hold and hit Kane with a Lou Thesz press. Kane stopped a Stunner attempt, and William Regal stood on the apron. Austin goes for a Stunner but Kane pushes Austin out and into a Tombstone set-up. Austin floats out and hits a Stunner! Regal runs in the ring, gets knocked out by Austin, who turns into the choke of Kane. Regal comes back and stomps on Austin, causing a DQ. Regal gets a chair, while Austin is held by Kane. Austin kicks Regal, low blows Kane and then lays both out with chair shots! Austin celebrates with Steveweisers on the ramp, with Kane looking on. Austin then starts to come back, and then he stops, makes a rude gesture to Kane and walks to the back.

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin by DQ

Michael Cole asks if Undertaker is surprised that he will face Rock tonight. He says nothing surprises him anymore. He takes that back and says that he is surprised that the McMahon's think they need to stir up trouble between he and the Rock. He says Rock is big dog with a bark; he likes to run his mouth. He says he is a big dog with a bite, he likes to hurt people. If Rock tries him, he'll make Rock's big dog ass famous.

In the arena, The Kat comes out wrapped in a bathrobe carrying a present. She says she had to wish JR a Merry Christmas. She gives here a present, which is the Diva's Caribbean video. Lawler asks if she has anything for her. She says she knows what he wants, and she has it. The ol' Strip Show music plays and she gets on top of the announce table. Kat takes off her robe to reveal a VERY revealing bikini. Well, very revealing for RAW. I was one of the lucky few to attend last year's Armageddon where Kat was very revealing, if ya know what I mean. Anyway...

In the back, Steph goes to Test and Albert and asks where Trish is. They say they don't know and that she isn't coming in tonight. Steph walks away pissed. Test says he has an idea where Trish is, and that she's probably "eating soup". Albert goes, "So you mean, she's at a certain soup kitchen with Mr. McMahon?" Test says he isn't a betting man (then what was with Strip Poker on Heat?), but if he were, he'd bet on this.

In the back, Kurt Angle was shown talking to his mother on a cell phone. He asked her what she thought of their singing, and he was told that she thought Jimmy was off-key.

Match 3: T&A vs. Too Cool
Test started off the match against Grand Master Sexay, and the King made sure to mention the absence of Trish Stratus. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley appeared on the ramp watching the match. Test tagged in Albert, and noticed Stephanie and asked her what the hell she was doing out in the arena. Albert then hit the Albert-Bomb on Scotty as GMS made the save. As Stephanie inched closer to the ring, Test tagged back in and kicked Scotty in the corner and was distracted again by Steph. After an exchange of moves between Albert and Scotty, both men tagged out and Albert attempted to double team Grand Master, but hit Test by accident. As he looked at his partner on the floor outside, Scotty hit the face slam on Albert. After hitting the worm, Test was distracted again by Stephanie as she grabbed his leg as he ran the ropes. Turning his back on his opponent, Grand Master Sexay snuck up behind Test and rolled him up for the pinfall. Stephanie smiled as she walked back up the ramp, succeeding in her plans to make T&A lose the match. The tension between Trish and Stephanie continues to build!

Winners:Too Cool by pinfall

The Dudleys and Chris Jericho were shown walking through the hallways, heading to the ring for their match against Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian.

Albert burst into Steph's office. He says that Test is a hot head, and that the rumors about Trish and her dad may well be true, but he is just here to say that if she need anything, he's her man.

Before the match starts, highlights are shown of Kurt Angle "screwing" The Rock & The Undertaker out of the WWF Tag Team Titles on Smackdown last Thursday night.

Match 4: Chris Jericho & The Dudley Boyz vs. Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian
Kurt Angle's family all have ringside seats for this match. Christian attacks Jericho from behind to start the match. Angle comes in when the ref is distracted to lay in some punches. The crowd begins to chant "WE WANT TABLES" at the start of the match. Flying forearm by Jericho. Sunset flip by Christian, but Jericho rolls through and tries to hook in the Walls of Jericho. Instead, Jericho catapults Christian into the Dudleys who punch him into a pin 1-2-kickout.

Jericho tags out to D-Von who works on Christian. Tag to Edge. D-Von works on Edge. D-Von hits a flying body press for a 1-2-kickout. Tag to Buh-Buh. Buh-Buh flapjacks Edge onto the ropes. Buh-Buh hits a scoop slam on Edge, who then calls for the "Wassup headbutt" on Edge. Buh-Buh then tells "D-Von! Get the Tables!" D-Von sets up a table on the outside until Christian beats on him.

Edge spears Buh-Buh and stomps him into the mat. Edge then tags to Christian. Buh-Buh hits a big back body drop on Christian. Christian tags in Angle, while Buh-Buh tags in Jericho. Jericho hits a couple of clotheslines. Backbreaker by Jericho, who knocks Edge and Christian off the apron. Jericho knocks Angle over the top rope.

On the outside, Eric Angle nails Jericho, so Jericho pulls him in ringside. All the other Angle's work on Jericho, but the Dudleys grab Eric and powerbomb him through a table. The Dudleys fight E&C up the ramp. It's just Jericho and Angle now. Jericho goes for a Lionsault but stops himself. He works on Angle some more and goes for the Lionsault again, but Angle puts his knees up. Jericho staggers into an Olympic Slam for the 1-2-3!

All the Angle's come into the ring and celebrate. They then hold Jericho, allowing Angle to get in some more shots until the Dudleys clear the ring. Angle celebrates up the ramp, while the Dudleys tended to the fallen Jericho.

Winners: Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian by pinfall.

Recaps were shown of Eric Angle assaulting Jericho from his ringside seat, and the Dudleys putting Eric through a table.

Kurt Angle asked Eric if he was all right, and said the Dudleys ruined the Angle Family Christmas. Edge & Christian vowed to gain revenge on the Angle's behalf.

Back in the arena, the Right to Censor made their way to the ringside area, extolling the evils of the Internet and APA. Goodfather claimed that the Internet was designed to trap innocent people...and before he could finish what he was saying, The Acolytes and Jackie hit the ring.

Match 5: The Acolytes vs. Bull Buchanan & The Goodfather
The Acolytes pounded on the RTC members for a while and as Bradshaw tried to execute a move, Ivory attempted to interfere, but was soundly taken care of by Jackie. Before you could say what happened, Val Venis entered the ring, and hit a DDT on Bradshaw, allowing RTC to win the match. I apologize for the short recap of this match, but being the holidays, I'm sure you understand.

Winners:Right To Censor by pinfall

Jim Ross wished everyone again a Merry Christmas. Jim Ross then tells everyone he interviewed Chyna earlier in the day, and showed the piledriver that injured her at the hands of the Right to Censor a couple of weeks back on RAW.

Jim Ross interview with Chyna.

JR asks what the doctors have told Chyna and what she thinks of her future. Chyna says that at first she lost feeling in her arms and they thought she just had a pinched nerve, but the MRI showed that she had three ruptured disks in her neck. The doctor's gave her two options: never wrestle again, or surgery that would most likely prevent her from stepping in the ring again.

JR says that on the bright side, her Playboy issue was selling great, her book is coming out, she has been on Third Rock from the Sun. She has a lot to fall back on if this is career ending. She can't stand these words, "career ending", and she breaks down saying that the RTC took her life from her and she hates that she can't do anything about that.

JR says that she had the two options, and Chyna said she had overcome a great deal in her career in the WWF. JR asks if she can see herself coming back to the WWF in a non-wrestling role. She cries, saying that she only hopes.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviewed the Rock, who abruptly cut him off again! "Finally...the Rock has come back to Chattanoooooooga!" The Rock replies to Kelly stating he was afraid of the Last Ride from the Undertaker. He said he would rather avoid it altogether. But he is not afraid of anything or anyone. The Rock didn't want to discuss what scares him, but what makes him happy. His favorite Christmas story makes him happy: Rocky the Reindeer. He spins a rhyming story about Rocky the Reindeer shoving toys up a drunken Santa's ass. Since this is Christmas, he has one more thing to say to Undertaker: "You better not laugh, you better not cry. You better not pout, Rock's telling you why. The Brahma Bull is coming to town." Merry Christmas, Undertaker, if ya smell what the Rock is cooking.

Santa is shown in the crowd as "Dead Man Walking" hits and the Undertaker "Rolls" to the ring! As if we needed to be reminded Limp Bizkit performs the Undertaker's new entrance theme, JR & The King remind us of the fact.

Up Next...The Rock versus The Undertaker!!

Match 6: The Rock vs. The Undertaker
The Rock stares down the Undertaker as he crosses the ring to acknowledge his fans. The two never take their eyes off each other as the King announces the second man in the Royal Rumble and he is the Undertaker!

The Two men stand eye to eye in the middle of the ring, and the match starts when the Undertaker clubs the people's champ with stiff right hand. As the Rock stands dazed, the Undertaker hits another thunderous right hand that sends the Rock over the top rope to the floor. The two battle over to the dasher boards and the Undertaker drops the Rock throat first onto the boards.

The two battle behind the desk where JR and the King sit, and they scramble away as the Rock stumbles by the King. The action returns to the ring, as the Rock hits a swinging neckbreaker to the deadman. Rock hits the Side Russian Legsweep on the 'Taker. Undertaker then battles back for a close 2-count pin attempt. The Undertaker gives the Rock a few headbutts in the kidneys in the corner. The Undertaker then smashes the Rock's head into the top turnbuckle and hits a sidewalk slam for a near fall.

The Undertaker hits a forearm shot on the Rock and the Rock returns the shot with one of his own. The Undertaker is dominating his opponent. As the Undertaker continued his assault on his former tag team partner, JR reminded us that the ring is the Undertaker's yard. Rock is trapped in a bearhug by the Undertaker, making it hard for the Rock to breathe.

As Earl Hebner checked the arm, the crowd cheered as the Rock raised his arm in defiance of the Undertaker's assault. The Undertaker then called for his chokeslam from hell...but the Rock battled back with stiff right hands. The Rock attempted to hit the Rock Bottom but was shoved off and was hit with the chokeslam. As Undertaker went for the last ride, Rikishi made his way to the ring, as he returned from his injuries suffered at Armageddon. Rikishi low bridged the Rock as he ran the ropes. Rikishi beats down on Rock as the DQ bell sounds. Rikishi comes in the ring and hits a Bonzai Drop on Taker, then another on Rock...as RAW is WAR went off the air for another week of wild WWF Action!
