Gibson Praise

In the 5th Season finale, The End, Mulder discovers that a 12 year old chess prodigy, Gibson Praise, was the target of an assasination. The young boy wins at chess by reading people's minds. Mulder, Scully, and Agent Diana Fowley have the boy tested to prove, scientifically, that he can indeed read minds. While in Fowley's care, she is shot and Gibson is kidnapped by the Syndicate.

After undergoing a brain operation to study how he reads minds, the Cigarette-Smoking Man and the Well Manicured Man take Gibson to find an attack alien (one of the first forms of the Colonists after being "born" from their hosts' bodies) that is on the loose. (The Beginning) Gibson is able to escape and find his way to Mulder and Scully's car. Scully takes him to a hospital only to have Gibson disapear again. He had been taken by one of the Syndicate cronies to find the alien.

Two years later, in the eighth season premier, Within/Without Agents Scully and Doggett and A.D. Skinner rush to find Gibson who is now living at a deaf school. They are afraid the Colonists are trying to erase the evidence of the mind reading Gibson. Gibson is almost kidnapped by an alien who has taken Mulder's shape but Doggett is able to stop him. Gibson is kept safe and even hides Mulder for a year.

In the series finale, The Truth, Gibson testifies on behalf of Mulder against Mulder's wishes. Gibson then identifies one of the military men at Mulder's trial as an alien. After helping Scully, Doggett, Reyes, Skinner, and Kersh to break Mulder out of prision, Gibson reads Mulder's mind and realizes that he and Scully are not heading to the US border as thought. He also realizes that the alien military man knows too. He tells Doggett and Reyes where the duo are headed and the agents are able to get to them in time to warn them that the alien military man knows where they are. Gibson was last seen with Doggett and Reyes who promised to protect him so it can be assumed that he is either still with them or at least in contact with them.
