Samantha Mulder

The little sister of Fox Mulder, Samantha Mulder is the reason for Mulder's quest to find the truth. He hoped that along the way he would be reunited with his sister.

In Conduit, Mulder's sister's file states that her full name Samantha T. Mulder and that her birthdate was Jan. 22, 1964. In Paper Clip, however, Samantha's name is given as Samantha Ann Mulder and her birthdate is Nov. 21, 1965.

Samantha was taken from her home on Nov. 27th, 1973, when she was eight years old. In Colony, a woman claiming to be Samantha shows up, but it is learned that she is a clone. In Herrenvolk, Mulder is led to a place by Jeremiah Smith where there are many little girl Samantha clones.

In Demons, Mulder experiences flashbacks from his childhood that suggest that Samantha was the product of her mother's affair with the infamous Cigeratte-Smoking Man.

More evidence appeared in the Sein Und Zeit/Closure arc, when Mulder finds a house with a cement platform with the handprints of Jeffrey Spender(CSM's son with Cassandra Spender) and Samantha.

Mulder discovers that Samantha had been taken as human collateral by the aliens. Their father, Bill Mulder, had worked with the C.S.M. in the conspiracy. Each member had to give up a member of his family in exchange for an alien fetus, valuable genetic information. Although Bill originally chose Mulder (Paper Clip), he changed his mind when he discovered Samantha was not his (Demons).

Although many clones were made of Samantha, she herself died in 1979, when she was only 14-years-old. This was the year given in Closure. In The Truth, Spender tells the court that Samantha died in 1987. He also confirms that not only was Samantha C.S.M.'s child(he states that she and he were raised together, though before this he had never mentioned having been raised with a sister), but that Mulder was also the son of the Smoking man, which made Spender and Mulder half-brothers.
