Zell is one of the six main characters in the game and we meet him as a cadet in Balamb Garden near the very beginning of the game. Zell was adopted into the Dincht family from an orphange when he was young. He loves his adoptive family and in many ways could be considered a mama's boy, it's probably because of this he is one of the nicest people in the game. The reason he is at Garden is because he wants to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, we find this out later when the gang rests in his room in Balamb town. He becomes a SeeD with Squall and Selphie... and Nida technically but let's not go into that.

Zell is often called chicken-wuss by Seifer and in typical Zell style he never fails to over react. Throughout the game we see Zell grow up a lot in his attitude, there are even instances where Squall is amazed at how much Zell knows.

Zell is a nice guy... and he deserves more love interest than the library girl don't you think?
