The City-State of Thandasa...
Is located on Dvorac,an Island on the Western Hemisphere. It spans the
entire continent and it is divided into seven provinces. The Seven Provinces
are named after their Capitol Cities and they are as follows Zalorea,
Primus Nova, Silver Stream, Gundar’s Cairn, Farreston, Grom Pravda, and
Archanfel’s Keep which was formerly Jorungard. The City-State has two
meetings of the Heads of State per year at Primus Nova where they discuss
the affairs of the country and renew their Provincial bonds.
Zalorea, the predominately elven province is
run by Mother Felosia who is the High Priestess of the Elven goddess.
It has adopted a rather isolationist policy when dealing with many non-elves
and even some elves. You are free to enter but getting there is a rather
difficult journey, that’s why I tend to call it an Isolationist policy.
It holds one other town in its province, Dijvaro whose population is a
fair mix of humans, elves and half-elves. Zamora’s Economy is mostly based
on Luxury trade and sparse subsistence fishing. It trades exotic cloths,
wine, silk and other such luxury items in return for other necessities.
Primus Nova is run by Duke Ellington, who has
just recently acquired the position. He gained his position due to his
father’s influence upon the city council. Despite his means of gaining
power, Duke Ellington runs the country very well. Albeit not a warrior,
he is one hell of a statesman and rumor has it that he dabbles a bit in
the arcane arts. There are two other larger towns in the province, one
large one by the name of Feyrsil and a smaller, Kuryu. This province is
primarily an Agricultural one, this is due to the vast, Savannah that
encompasses it which has a deep and rich topsoil.
Silver Stream is run by Mayor Ocelot, but Harbormaster
Jafod is an equivalent leader who attends all meetings with the Mayor.
They share their power as their station in life permits, Ocelot Handles
the Politics and Lawmaking while Harbormaster Jafod handles economic issues
and manpower management. The City itself relies on sailing and fishing,
while Usdek is self-sufficient and the large Gnome population of Regnav
City relies on the export of artifacts found in the nearby ruins and various
other unique works.
Gundar’s Cairn is a marvel of dwarven work; it
is the result of a Dwarf under the guidance of the Dwarven god. He organized
the backwards dwarves and reforged them into a mighty collection of people.
His Son Korthek now leads them after the death of Gundar many years ago.
They use no title, as Gundar had no use for them, they simply know who
leads. The Economy of the province is driven by mining, metalwork and
Gem manufacture. The City of Durandin and the Small town of Kalvard are
also within the province, both of which are predominately Dwarven. The
Village of Myragon stands within this province as well; the people there
are left to themselves, as it is there wish. Myragon is evenly populated
by all of the humanoid races, and is completely self-sufficient.
Farreston is a City Deep within a Barren Desert;
it surrounds the Flame Tongue Oasis. The Oasis received its name from
a man who was cursed with an insatiable thirst. The Province is run by
Chief Longard, this city’s only two exports are the nectar of the Rust
Lily and the sap of the Desert Maple. These two products along with a
few others can cure many pains and aid in healing. Basih was originally
a rest point between Farreston and Vorbassa, but many have settled there
for they found it profitable to act as a supply post. Vorbassa provides
fish and other such products for Farreston, b/c of the many things that
lack in the Desert community.
Grom Pravda is a Fortified Capitol City; it has
been so due to its past history. It was a Frontier City built during days
long past to be a beacon of civilization in an area sprawling with many
forms of Hostile life. It is headed by Lord Garamond, a man of middle
age, yet who still holds the vigor of youth. He is the same man who founded
The Knights of the Silver Shield and who has overseen much of their training.
Grom pravda’s main export is Lumber and the root of the Stone Oak. The
Town of Pidikavarus is to the south of the Capitol and it’s mainly an
agrarian society, it helps to provide a stable food source on this side
of the Star Bridge Mountain Range. Quade is a small town that runs a stone
quarry; it provides extra stone to maintain Grom Pravda’s Great Fortifications.
Archanfel’s Keep which was formerly Jorungard,
but at the last meeting of the Heads of State, Jorungard’s Mayor did not
attend, when a query was sent the only message that returned, with the
disembodied head of the inquisitor was “Stay out of Archanfel’s Keep!”
No one knows what to make of it save that it was not an empty threat.
Rumor has it that it has something to do with the Crash of the Azdija
Meteor a few weeks before, but if there is a connection no one can be
sure.
