Transformers
Kids' Meal Toys
This section of the site
reveals all transformable McDonald's and Burger King pack-in Meal
toys released since 1996.
The first line, the 1996
wave, featured five toys. These toys had no real names, and were just called
names like "Beetle" and "Rhino". These iincluded Beele, Manta Ray, Panther,
Rhino, and the toy for children under three.
The second line, the 1998
wave, featured three toys. These toys had real names, and were names taken
from other Beast Wars toys. These included Dinobot, Blackarachnia, and
Scorponok. All were supposedly "Transmetals"
even though they had no third modes.
The third line, the 2000
wave, featured nine toys. These toys had their respective show names, and
in some cases, they were even more show-accurate than the "actual" Beast
Machines toys themselves! These toys included Optimus Primal, Rattrap,
Blackarachnia, Cheetor, Nightscream, Jetstorm, Tankorr, Thrust, and Megatron.
The fourth line, the 2002
wave, featured eight toys. These were McDonald's versions of Armada
Optimus Prime, Smokescreen, Hot Shot, Red Alert, Megatron, Starscream,
Demolishor, and Cyclonus. Besides having Powerlinx ports and their own
gimmicks, all four Autobots and all four Decepticons could "link up" into
a gestalt version.
The fifth line, in 2005,
which was exclusive to Burger King, featured four toys-- miniaturized,
"kiddie-fied" versions of Cybertron Optimus
Prime, Red Alert, Jetfire, and Megatron.
The sixth line, in 2007,
also exclusive to Burger King, were representations of the Movie
bots, but since they didn't really transform, they are not reviewed on
this site. Similarly, in 2009, Burger King representations of the Revenge
of the Fallen Movie bots were released, but they also didn't really transform
and thus are not reviewed; Also, in 2010, McDonalds' released non-transformable
figures of some more movie 'bots and 'cons.
The seventh line, in 2008,
was exclusive to McDonald's and was a Transformers
Animated promotion, featuring Happy Meal versions of Optimus Prime,
Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Lugnut from that series.
