Transformers Movie (2007) Toys

On July 3rd, 2007, at long last, a big-budget blockbuster Transformers live-action movie was released, complete with incredibly realistic CGI, an action-packed storyline, and a more "grown-up," realistic approach to Transformers. Without giving away too much of the movie's plot for anyone who hasn't seen it, the Allspark, an artifact of unknown origin that created the Transformers race, was ejected from Cybertron long ago by Optimus Prime, desperate to keep its power from the hands of Megatron and the Decepticons. Now, hundreds of years later, the Allspark has been found on Earth, and the Autobots and Decepticons battle on our home planet to regain control of the Allspark, as well as the secret government organization Sector Seven.
The massive first wave of the toyline itself was released on June 2nd of 2007, with other waves following later. The toys, for the most part, offered a much more complex-looking, more alien, more "fragmented" style of Transformers, as this helped them look realistic and move easier on the big screen. The Decepticons especially were departures from the norm, as most of them looked downright monstrous in their appearance. To help with the more fragmented transformations, the gimmick used for most of the movie toys was an "Automorph" feature, where when you slid one part into place, several other parts would also fold into their appropriate places automatically. To expand the main toyline beyond just the characters in the movie, many drones from the Transformers Movie video game were also added to the line as toys, mostly in later waves. Many other sublines were also added, such as "Bump 'n Go" Cyber Slammers for very young kids and Real Gear toys that transformed into everyday products like digital cameras. Cyber Slammers and Real Gears are ~$7 U.S., and Fast Action Battlers are $10 U.S.
As 2007 came to a close, Hasbro added an "Allspark Power" subtitle to the mainline, Target Exclusive Scout class line, and Legends class toys' packages, along with a slightly modified package design. All of the mainline figures released under the "Allspark Power" of this line (which lasted until June of 2008 when the Transformers: Animated line began) have at least some bright blue paint on them, which is supposed to symbolize the power of the Allspark embedded in those Transformers.
Below are toy reviews for the various toys in this innovative, original Transformers line. Because of the fact that several versions of many of the main movie characters exist, instead of listing them alphabetically by faction as is done in most other toy review sections, I have instead listed them alphabetically according to movie sub-line, with their respective factions ignored for the purposes of the order of these listings.

(NOTE: This website does NOT review most of the non-transformable toy, roleplay, and merchandise products from the movie, such as the Robot Heroes and the roleplay T.E.C.H. subline. Also, regarding the "Premium Edition" subline that features metallic redecoes of the movie characters, they are only reviewed seperately if they look substantially different from the original; if the toy essentially looks the same but only metallic, then a footnote will just be added on the review of the original mainline toy. A few other products, such as board games, are reviewed in the Storage Closet, but if it's not listed there or here, it's not reviewed on this site.)
