Roman & Marlena #2 May 18 - July 12, 1982: 8 hour original edit
Twin sister Sam is murdered and everyone thinks it is Marlena who has died. Roman and Don are both devastated, included Hortons ect finding out. The coroner tells Roman it is not Marlena but sister Sam. Marlena has gone to the gatehouse but he lake. When Don sees her, he thinks he is seeing a ghost and can't believe she is alive. Soon she realizes her sister has been murdered.

Jake arrives just after Don leaves, and he pulls a gun on her. Roman arrives just in time and Jake is shot and killed during the struggle. He carries her out to the car and they are reunited, (first scenes together after he realized she wasn’t murdered). Soon they take off for their Mazatlan trip that Roman gets to join her on. Marlena is pretty shaky for awhile, very withdrawn and blaming herself for Sam’s death. Roman gets through to her and brings her back to herself. They have romantic dinners, and play time on the beach. Their last night, she tells him that she loves him.

After they return home from Mexico, he soon takes her up to an inn and tells her that he is still married to Anna who was presumed dead by drowning though technically he is still married. Romantic fireside scenes as he proposes and she says yes! They finally make love. Ends just as they returned to town and stop by Maggie & Mickey's and she shows off her ring. Quality throughout this edit it pretty good. Few sections that quality isn't as strong but only available scenes, but overall quality is more stable and consistently good on this edit over the first one. Roman & Marlena #3 July 12 - November, 1982: 12 hour original edit
Romantic fireside scenes as he proposes and she says yes! They finally make love. Ends just as they returned to town and stop by Maggie & Mickey's and she shows off her ring. Roman asks Abe to be his best man, Marlena gives up Johnny so he can return to his mother. Next just as Roman & Marlena are planning to get married, his dead wife Anna returns from the dead. They then learn that she didn’t lose the baby and Roman has a 4 yr old daughter Carrie. Roman is preoccupied with trying to figure out Anna’s story of being held captive. He is protective over Anna and delays the divorce while she heals. Finally he gets around to signing the divorce papers, and then Marlena is hesitant as she feels guilty that she is taking Carrie and Roman away from Anna. Cute moment as Eugene has a Fred & Ginger dance fantasy with Marlena. The beginning of Anna’s arrival is included but by fall 1982, the Roman edits skipped ahead so not much of his separate scenes to include from Sept-Dec, 1982. There is not as much R&M together on this edit, basically he is dealing with Anna's return and is distant from Marlena, distracted, feeling guilty, then as he figures things out after the guy is caught and he is ready to move forward. Then Marlena is consumed with guilt for taking Carrie & Roman away, Sam's death, and all the women who died as she couldn't help Jake. I recently redid this edit and I was able to add in additional Roman scenes. They aren’t as good in quality but felt it is important to add in as many of his scenes as possible, including his first scenes with Anna and Carrie. This edit is now 12 hours! Roman & Marlena #4 November 23, 1982 - February 11, 1983: 8 hour original edit
Great edit as Roman surprises her with replacement antique goblets and a return to trip to Mazatlan, wedding plans resume, and Marlena’s bridal shower. This edit now begins with the super cute scene “Tuna Delight” scenes that I just uncovered. This was not previously on the R&M nor the Marlena edits and was missing! This edit also contains their return trip to Mazatlan where they spend Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, and New Year’s. Roman is set up and gets suspended from the police force. Anna hypnotises Carrie to plan evidence at Roman’s apartment. Kayla passes out at the hospital after she is poisoned. Roman has nightmares of something happening to Marlena to get to him. A few days before her wedding, Marlena returns home to find a look alike dummy with a knife in the body and fake blood.

This edit also covers the bachelor party, wedding and reception on the #4C dvd. There is an attempt on Roman’s life as he picks up his tux from the tuxedo shop, Marlena is anxious as Roman goes missing for several hours, he finally arrives at the church just in time for their wedding, Eugene finds a hit man in the balcony ready to assassinate Roman, after he is stopped, the wedding continues, followed by their reception. Honeymoon plans change after the two attempts on Roman’s life, Marlena is shocked to find her ex-husband Don is going on the honeymoon with her - incognito as Roman. I include a bonus extra 4 hour dvd as some of the quality on the #4A & 4B is reduced. I felt it was important to add some additional missing Roman scenes, so figured would add that extra footage at no charge and include an extra 4 hours since some of the quality while very watchable, isn’t strong. Roman & Marlena #5 February 11 - August 12, 1983: 12 hour original edit
Marlena is being held desperate to get to Roman and sneaks out of the honeymoon inn she is sharing with Don and she is kidnapped by Stefano, along with a very pregnant Liz. They are held at his Ridgecrest property. They work on trying to escape, but are caught by Stefano as Roman & Abe observe the action through binoculars on top of the hill. The ladies make another attempt and are on the run when Liz trips and falls and is unable to move as she goes into labor. Marlena tries to run for help but the momentary delay allows Stefano to catch up to her. We then move into a hostage situation as Roman & Abe and the police have the property surrounded. Neil is allowed in to help delivery their baby. Soon Stefano takes Marlena out in a limo after releasing Neil & Liz. They head to a helicopter landing zone, and Roman arrives just in time to stop Stefano from taking Marlena away.

Roman grabs hold of the helicopter railing and dangles as they lift off, meanwhile Marlena is fighting Stefano and forces him to land. He is arrested and Marlena and Roman share a joyous reunion. They finally take off on a ski honeymoon, complete with action shots of snow play, ski lifts, hot tub action, champagne, and romantic dinners. Soon after they return home, they move into their new home, and then Bo arrives back in town delivering a stolen microwave as a wedding gift. Marlena opens “The Right Connection” (a teen crisis center), and Roman & Marlena move into their new home, followed by a big house warming party with all of their friends and family. They celebrate 4th of July, and Hope has moved in to help out with Carrie. Hope takes Roman his fishing pole to his cabin and makes a pass at him. Bo and Marlena walk in and see them kissing and Bo slugs Roman. Hope explains that it was her fault and Roman did not reciprocate and embarrassed apologizes profusely.

I also added a bonus #5C dvd to this edit as well, again some of the additional scenes added were not great quality but I felt it was important to tell more of their storyline. Another great time frame! I was able to add some additional Roman scenes for Ridgecrest, and more Roman scenes from late spring/summer, and added a bit more to the Roman & Marlena series over the summer. Roman & Marlena #6 August 12 - December 6, 1983: 12 hour original edit
This edit finishes off the Fishing Shack scenes, and has great quality from early September with Renee’s party culminating in her murder, then Kelly is killed, and then Trista, and the Salem Slasher storyline is in full swing on the #6A. Gwen is attacked and Roman relentlessly questions all of his suspects: David, Tony, Anna, Alex, and Eugene (though Roman doesn’t think he is the killer, he has to include him in the investigation. On the #6B, Trista is murdered and Marlena goes out of town for most of Oct, and Roman works with Abe on the case while she is gone. I was able to add quite a bit of Roman’s scenes as he investigates the Salem Slasher murders. Larry arrives as the new DA and begins annoying Roman, finally Roman slugs him (those scenes are reduced quality but just had to add them in!).

On the #6C, Marlena and Sandy witness “Roman” killing his next victim as he runs out. Abe is forced to arrest his best friend and the town is in shock over the charges. Marlena visits Roman in jail, Bo & Alice plot and she makes drugged donuts. Alice takes the drugged donut to the PD for Roman. Bo is waiting in the ambulance when Roman is taken for medical treatment. Alice blocks the road so when the ambulance stops, Bo sneaks Roman out and he escapes. Alex tries to kill Anna and she hides out in Roman’s car. Turns out she is his alibi once Joan is attacked as she is with Roman. (She is blackmailing Alex with the tape of him plotting Roman’s assassination with Stefano and once Roman finds her, she fills him in on her blackmail attempt).

I also had uncovered some good quality fall episodes that were fun to be able to edit and add all of those scenes. When I didn’t have good quality, I would use whatever I could locate to add to his storyline, some scenes are reduced quality but important to tell his storyline. The first half of November has some good quality Roman and Marlena scenes together once she is back home. I have decent quality complete episodes begin in late November so from then on, I am able to include every Roman and every Marlena scene in sequence. Roman & Marlena #7 December 6 - February 23, 1984: 12 hour original edit
This edit heats up the Salem Slasher storyline! Anna hides in a car and is shocked when she realizes she is in the back of Roman’s car and has to hide out with him. Meanwhile, fake Roman attacks Joan at the same time Anna is with Roman. Roman reaches out to Bo for help with clothes, and food. Carrie falls and is injured and spends Christmas in the hospital in a coma. Alice arranges for Roman to play Santa for the children’s Christmas party. Bo plants a bug in Alex’s study, and listens in from the outside tunnel that connects. Roman and Anna hide out in a cabin (have to run when the ranger recognizes him), then a secret room in the Salem Library, then a monastery. Hope is attacked by fake Roman, and Larry hears her screams and fights him off. The killer is revealed to be Tony! Roman decides to fake his death so the police will stop looking for him and the killer will stop killing. Roman rents a place on the lake, and Abe finds him there. There is another attack while Abe is with Roman, and he has proof that he isn’t the killer!

Tony plans on killing Marlena next, but Eugene gets an impression that she is in great danger and heads over there and interrupts Tony from poisoning her. Hope follows Bo to the rental house and enters just before it explodes. Bo gets her out just in time, but Roman is delayed leaving. Bo is frantic when he realizes Roman’s car is still there and then a body is found. The coroner is paid off to ID the body as Roman’s. Abe goes to Marlena and tells her the tragic news that Roman is dead. She is grief stricken and blames Bo for not telling her he was in touch with Roman. Several days later as Marlena is planning his memorial, Roman finally shows up wearing a Don mask. Marlena is over joyed as he peels it off and she sees that her husband is alive! She goes to the memorial and tells Abe privately that Roman is alive and he wants Abe to continue with the plan of Roman being the dead killer and not exonerate him at the memorial. Bo and Shawn are furious with Abe’s Eulogy. Later, Abe is reunited with Roman. He finally lets Bo know he is alive but won’t allow Bo to work with him anymore as Hope is too great a risk and she won’t stay away from Bo, and almost got Roman killed. Roman wears a Don mask and Marlena takes him to Eugene’s and he hides out in his basement.

I included every Roman and every Marlena scene during this time frame. I also added in a few additional scenes as needed to tell the Salem Slasher storyline. I showed Andre/Tony in Roman make up and scheming over the phone with “The Phoenix” (who is not seen), and in his secret room getting ready to strike again in his Roman disguise. There are some cute Bo & Alice scenes as he turns to her for help getting messages back and forth to Roman. The quality of the early to mid Dec episodes isn’t as strong as I would like but watchable and complete. Around Dec 21, the quality improves and much of Jan is pretty good. There are a few additional episodes in Jan that are also reduced or so-so. I tried to make notes as I went. Feb the quality is consistently good other than a few minutes here and there. I decided to include the R&M #7A as a bonus dvd since the quality wasn’t great for a good chunk of it. So I wound up editing 12 hours on 3 dvds, with one of these included as a bonus complimentary dvd. Roman & Marlena #8 February 23 - May 9, 1984: 8 hour original edit
Stefano tells the story of how his death was faked. Eugene thinks he is losing his mind after seeing Roman. He is shocked when Roman reveals himself to him as being alive. Stefano has cameras set up in Eugene’s to gaslight him into thinking he is seeing Trista’s ghost. Stefano learns that Roman is alive and hiding out in Eugene’s basement. Marlena’s friends and family become concerned that she isn’t dealing with her grief. Roman reveals himself to his pop and lets him know he is alive. Alice is very suspicious that Roman is alive, and he finally lets her in on the plan. Roman celebrates his birthday, and Marlena is involved in hosting a benefit concert. Stefano has planned for Andre (in a Roman mask) to kill Marlena very publicly and he also has rigged explosives to go off in the theatre as a back up.

Marlena learns she is 6 weeks pregnant, and Eugene pretends he is the father and the entire hospital is shocked! Tom pretty much insists they get married! Roman is thrilled to learn he will be a daddy. Anna finds the secret room and Tony locked away. Eugene makes Roman a tranquillizer dart gun, that he is able to use to escape once Stefano takes him captive. Lots of action towards the end of this edit as the benefit concert is held, the hall is cleared when the bomb is reported. Andre is there is his fake Roman mask ready to kill Marlena and he and Roman begin fighting. Stefano takes Marlena hostage, when the police appear ready to shoot Roman, Abe stands in front of him to protect him! Overall quality should be pretty good, maybe a few episodes along the way that have some glitches but over all pretty stable good quality original episodes to edit from. Roman & Marlena #9 May 10 - October 10, 1984: 8 hour original edit The conclusion of the showdown at the Benefit Concert. Andre is arrested and Roman cleared of all charges! When Stefano threatens Alex, he throws champagne in Petrov’s eyes driving their limo into the river as Roman watches. Roman is arrested and soon cleared and released. Bo is shot and paralysed but Roman pushes him and he begins to regain feeling in his legs. Gene and Marlena get an annulment. Cute scenes as Carrie is reunited with her daddy, just love them together. They have several cute moments on this edit. The cops throw a surprise party to welcome Roman home, Abe gives a heartfelt speech about the worst day was learning Roman had died. Marlena is frantic when she learns a cop is shot on a stakeout Roman is on but is relieved when he is safe but devastated that another officer is killed.

Kimberly arrives in town and turns to her brother for help, and meets her new sister-in-law. Abe notices Roman taking secret meetings and trips and asks if he is working for the ISA? Is Stefano alive? Marlena finds a note in his jacket about Stefano and Andre. She begs him not to go after them on his own and gets him to agree to to give the letters about Andre and Stefano to Abe and let him and the ISA handle it. Very cute scenes of a very pregnant Marlena getting pickle/peanut butter sandwich cravings, then the guys trying to put the crib together and failing (then Carrie does it for them!). Roman worries when it appears Marlena is going into labor early, but turns out to be false labor. Carrie is disappointed when Roman doesn’t make her favourite sandwich for lunch, and acts out. Marlena points out she is feeling threatened with the impending arrival of the babies. Roman takes Carrie on a surprise picnic with her favourite PB&J for some sweet daddy daughter time as he reassures her how very much he loves her. Marlena and Roman agree on Samantha (after her twin sister) for a girl but do not agree on a boy’s name. She likes Roman Jr., but he disagrees that it is too confusing. Eugene joins them and points out that when he married Marlena that she promised to name her son after him. Click here to read the full edit description.

Roman & Marlena #10 October 11 - December 25, 1984: 8 hour original edit
Marlena goes into labor during Shawn’s surprise birthday and Roman rushes her to the hospital, and the babies are finally born! As their friends and family gather bringing gifts and congratulations, Stefano is shown to be alive and vows his revenge on Roman Brady! Roman and Marlena return home and enjoy a joyous bit of time together with their babies. A plane of Salemites heading to Haiti crashes on Stefano’s island when Andre hijacks it. Roman was supposed to be on the plane but due to Eric having a breathing crisis, he winds up at the hospital with his son and Bo goes in his place instead.Soon packages begin arriving that Roman realizes are from Stefano. He has to go to Haiti to find out what Brother Andrew knows about Stefano, he had called him to entice him to Haiti (while being held at gunpoint by Stefano’s goon).

Roman and Marlena's last scenes together as he heads to Haiti. Sweet moments as Dee and Wayne are saying goodbye and he is emotional as she sobs in his arms. Everyone then waits for word from Roman and if there are any survivors. Roman & Stefano fight on cliff, Roman is shot and falls off the cliff, Roman dies in Bo's arms, Bo tells Marlena that Roman has died. The islanders are all rescued. Everyone begins to grieve his loss. Heartbreaking scenes as they tell Carrie, when Abe grieves with Marlena, then Bo, Roman’s wake with tons of flashbacks. Roman’s wake, lots of flashbacks. Marlena is haunted by memories of Roman and nightmares of his death and she takes the kids to the mountains. She returns in time for Christmas Eve with the Brady’s, Marlena gives Roman's fishing pole to Bo. Then on Christmas Day, a gathering of friends and family at first Marlena’s as Carrie enjoys the dollhouse, and then at the Horton’s as the edit ends with the cast singing.
