DVD #5A  Mike comes back and gets introduced to Sonny. It turns out that Mike is Sonny's father. Sonny is not happy to see him. There is a lot of bad blood between them. Sonny tells Luke to fire Mike and leaves. Luke goes up to the apartment and tells Sonny about his own messed up childhood and that he understands. Sonny wants to know what Mike’s angle is. Luke’s story convinces Sonny to get some answers from Mike before he just sends him away. Luke admits to Sonny that if it was his father that walked through the door, he would not so fast to toss him out until he got some answers.  Sonny breaks down after remembering a fight between his parents when he was a little boy.

Sonny finds Mike at Kelly’s and asks him why he is really in PC. He tells Sonny he's there to make up for everything in the past. Sonny doesn't want to hear it and tells Mike he doesn't care if he stays or goes but he does have to stay out of his face. Sonny tells Luke it is his call to keep Mike at the club, but warns him not to trust him.
 
Lily shows up at Luke's to check out the progress on the club. Sonny is sitting around in a bad mood and Lily asks if he's okay. At first, Sonny snaps at her but then he warms up and starts opening up to her. He mentions that she reminds him of his mother and then says that she is probably the only person he knows that will understand what's going on with him. Sonny tells Lily about Mike showing up in town and that he like her hates his father. She comforts him and they hug. Brenda walks in and flips out at the sight of them embracing. Lily leaves.

Brenda is ready to walk out but Sonny stops her saying that he needs her. Sonny tells Brenda about his father. They end up getting in a fight. Sonny yells at Brenda and leaves because he says she is making it all about herself. Mike comes in and he along with Luke console Brenda. Brenda discusses her relationship with Sonny with Mike. Brenda goes upstairs to make up with Sonny. Brenda apologizes to Sonny about being jealous of Lily; she just wants to be as helpful to him. Sonny tells Brenda about his childhood and how Mike came and went. In return she tells him about her childhood. Sonny cheers up and starts climbing all over Brenda.

Everyone's making last minute preparations for the club opening later that night. Sonny is still on edge about his father. BB King shows up, he's going to be the clubs first performance. Everyone else begins showing up. Joe Scully shows up at the opening of Luke's Club. He is like a dad to Sonny. Luke introduces BB King. Ned And Lois are there together. They have finally made up and are in love. Brenda is as thrilled as they are. Sonny introduces Brenda to Scully. Brenda introduces Joe to everyone else. BB King performs another song. Sonny asks Scully what brings him to town? Scully reveals that he's the one who took care of Cusack. It's closing time and everybody heads home. Sonny and Scully talk about business some more. Scully warns Sonny that more people will probably try to move in on his territory and that he can help if Sonny wants. He lets Sonny know he'll be hanging around awhile and that he's staying at the Port Charles Hotel. Sonny can't sleep. When Brenda wakes up and sees him he tells her it's from too much excitement.

The next day, Sonny is sitting around gloomy. Brenda tries to cheer him up. Mac comes by to talk to Stone. Stone and Mac fight about Robin. Once Mac leaves, Sonny tells Stone that if he had a daughter he'd be happy to have him date her. Sonny and Brenda have dinner with Scully at Luke's. Harry tells Luke a little bit about Scully while Mike listens in. Sonny, Harry, Scully, and Bobbie play a backroom poker game. Luke and Brenda watch. Mike comes in and steals two decks of cards, then he ask Stone to borrow money so he can join the poker game. Mike cheats and wins a bunch of hands. Luke figures something fishy when on and he gives Mike a scolding. Mike pays Stone back double what he lent him. Brenda talks to Stone. He is feeling sick and thinks he has the flu. Luke confronts Sonny about Scully. Sonny goes to Scully to find out why he's really in town.

Mike, Brenda, and Stone are talking. Mike asks Stone how he got his name. Stone tells him that Sonny gave it to him because he used to be a Mike too but it was his father's name and he hated his father. Since he thought the name had bad vibes he said that Mike was like a rolling stone and therefore he should be called Stone. Stone doesn't know that Mike is Sonny's dad. When Mike leaves the room, Brenda fills him in. Mike comes back and Stone confronts him about the way he treated Sonny when he was a kid. Sonny and Scully argue because Scully thinks he deserves to be Sonny's partner in the business. Sonny doesn't want that but Scully tells him to think it over.
 
Brenda and Stone discuss his on-going cold. He says he's going to take the night off and hang out with Robin. Mike teaches Brenda some poker moves. They talk about Scully. Mike doesn't rust him but Brenda defends him. They also talk about her and Sonny's relationship. Sonny goes to see Damian and tells him about Scully. Sonny and Brenda discuss her friendship with Mike and then they go upstairs to make love. Brenda comes out of the bathroom wrapped in a bow for Sonny's Valentine's Day present. His other gift is a gold watch. Sonny gives Brenda a necklace for Valentines Day. They lay in bed talking and then make love again.
 
Sonny tells Luke more about his abusive childhood. His stepfather Deke used to beat his mom and him. When he got older he almost killed Deke so he had to leave home. He met Scully when he tried to steal his car. Scully took him under his wings instead of punishing him. Donnelly shows up to ask questions about why Joe Scully is in town? Sonny and Luke dance around the subject and Donnelly leaves. Next, Scully shows up angry because he thinks that Luke sent Sean Donnelly over to see him. Luke tells Scully off. Sonny tells him that was a big mistake. Brenda and Lois share  their Valentine’s Day story with each other. Lois tells Brenda that she is still nervous about the Qs.

Sonny goes over to Scully's hotel room and tells him that he doesn't want to be partners with him. Scully doesn't take it well and threatens him. Sonny goes back to Luke and tells him what happened. Luke wants to know what Scully has on him. Sonny reveals that Scully killed Deke. Scully asks Luke to dinner. Sonny and Mike have it out again. At dinner, Scully tells Luke to give him 10% of the clubs earnings and stay out of his business. In return, Scully will leave his family alone. Luke tells him off and leaves.

In the parking lot, Sean Donnelly is hiding. Luke hears a shot and turns around and shoots at the same time. Donnelly hears the same shot as Luke and comes out of hiding to protect Luke. Luke ends up shooting Donnelly by accident. The cops come and arrest Luke. Sonny learns Luke has been arrested. It doesn't look good for Luke but thankfully, Sean woke up shortly before surgery and confirmed that it was an accident and Luke is released. Sonny goes to Scully to find out what went down with Luke. Scully tells him the deal he offered Luke in their meeting. Sonny gets really mad and leaves.

At home, Sonny tells Brenda what happened with Luke and Donnelly. Luke tells Sonny that he has to choose between him and Scully. Sonny tells Luke that he's with him. They try to figure out a way to get rid of Scully. Sonny fills Brenda in on what Scully's trying to do to Luke. He tells her to play nice with Scully and not let him know that she's onto him. Sonny tells Scully what he wants' to hear in order to buy some time to come up with a plan. Mary Mae Ward performs at Luke's. In between sets, Felicia Jones goes into labor. She gives birth to a baby girl named Georgie. Once Felicia is taken to the hospital, Mary Mae performs another song.
 
DVD #5B  At L&B, Lois and Brenda talk about signing Mary Mae. Miguel shows up to talk to Brenda because Lily wants to have a child but he thinks it's for the wrong reasons. Lily is at the club telling Sonny about her problems with Miguel. Lois shows up to tell Luke and Sonny about her idea to sign Mary Mae. Lucy comes in hysterical wanting to talk to Luke. Her Deception shipments are being hijacked. She say's that she thinks it's Damian and asks Luke for you help. Luke agrees and fills Sonny in on Lucy's problem. Lois tells Brenda that she signed Mary Mae. They talk about Lily and Miguel. 
 
Harry comes by and tells Sonny that Scully is the one putting heat on Lucy. Mike and Sonny argue and almost get into a fist fight. Luke breaks it up. Sonny tells Luke who is messing with Deception.  Sonny confronts Damian about asking Scully to go after Lucy. Damian claims he does not want a war started, he just wanted a job done. Sonny tells him to back off Lucy or else. Sonny comes to the realization that he's going to have to take care of Scully. He talks about it with Luke. Luke tells Sonny that Lucy's in for whatever they plan. Brenda tells Sonny that Miguel is worried about his association with Scully. Sonny goes to talk to Miguel in order to ease his mind about Joe Scully.

Lucy, Luke, and Sonny have a meeting about how to get Scully out of their lives. Lucy assures Luke and Sonny that she can play in the big leagues with them to get Scully. Luke tells them the plan. Sonny has reservations, but agrees that is they get Scully, he has to be sent away for a long time. Sonny reveals to Brenda that his stepdad used to beat him and his mother. She wants to help him. He tells her it is over now. He also mentions her upcoming 21st birthday.

Brenda sees Mike at the club the next day and snaps at him because of what she now knows. Brenda yells at Mike for leaving Sonny when he was a little boy. She also tells him how Deke would beat Sonny and his mother. Mike says he knew nothing about it. Sonny walks in on their discussion. Mike tries to tell Sonny that he didn't know anything about it but Sonny doesn't want to hear it. He yells at Mike and then leaves. Brenda worries that Sonny will not trust her again. Sonny comes back later and Brenda tries to apologize but Sonny stops her and tells her not to worry about it. Sonny is pleasant to her but not completely sincere about it. Brenda leaves for work and Sonny mentions to Luke that he wants to throw Brenda a party for her 21st birthday.

Sonny invites Scully over to the club to talk with Luke. He tells Luke to pretend to be nice to Scully in order to buy them some extra time to take care of the situation. Sonny tells Luke that he needs to convince Scully that he would be willing to give him a piece of Luke for their plan to work. Sonny and Luke come up with a plan for Scully. They are going to make sure he gets caught by the cops with drugs. Later that night, Sonny goes home and he and Brenda make up for real this time and then make love. Sonny tells Luke more about Brenda€™s birthday party. He says he's going to hand deliver some of the invitations including one to the Q's.

Luke and Sonny are ready to put their “get Scully” plan in motion. Lucy comes into Luke’s office, all huffy about what she has been through with Ryan. Luke and Sonny rein her in and tell her about the plan. They plan to use her to set up Damian to set up Scully. 

Brenda and Lois meet with Mary Mae about the tunes for her CD. Sonny comes by to tell them all about Brenda’s party this coming Friday. Brenda is thrilled. Lois wants the L&B talent to sing to Brenda at her birthday party. Once Sonny leaves, Brenda tells Lois that she thinks Sonny may have gotten her an engagement ring. Lois tries to change her mind. Lois doesn't think a Sonny/Brenda engagement would be a good idea. She also doesn't think Sonny got a ring for Brenda and doesn't want Brenda to get her hopes up. Sonny goes to the Q's and invites Lila and her family to Brenda’s birthday party. Sonny flirts with Lila. Brenda asks Sonny to please make sure Robin is allowed at the party. Sonny makes sure of it by also inviting Mac.

Mike and Brenda talk more about Sonny's past. Mike mentions that Lily reminds him of Sonny’s mother Adella. Mike discourages Brenda from thinking about marriage with Sonny. Mike tells Brenda it is a mistake to expect a long-term commitment from Sonny. Brenda gets angry with him. Sonny, Luke, and Lucy set up a craps game with Scully so Lucy can get close with him. It works like a charm and Lucy is able to leak her information about the "special" shipment.
 
It's the night of Brenda’s birthday party. Everyone arrives at Luke’s. Brenda isn't ready yet. Lois goes up to the apartment and checks on her. They talk about the possibility of a proposal, Brenda is sure Sonny is giving her an engagement ring. After they are finished talking, Brenda makes her grand entrance and meets and greets with all the guests. Ned, Mary Mae and Miguel sing Happy Birthday to Brenda at the party that Sonny has thrown for her. Sonny gives a very sentimental toast to Brenda. Sonny gives Brenda her birthday gift which is a birthstone ring (with their names engraved inside), but she is disappointed when he puts the ring on her right hand. Miguel sings, Lily dances with AJ, Miguel gets jealous and leaps off the stage and goes for AJ's throat. Sonny breaks up the fight and he and Miguel argue. Ned and Lois comfort a stunned Brenda who ends up in tears.

Later, Brenda is looking at her ring but she's not thrilled. Sonny walks in carrying lots of presents. Noticing Brenda is upset, Sonny apologizes for the fight and for the party being ruined. Brenda blames Lily and they disagree on what role Lily played in getting Miguel upset. They then sit down and calmly discuss Lily, Brenda thinks Lily is after Sonny. They agree not to argue and Sonny apologizes profusely again. He kisses her and they discuss her present. Sonny realizes what kind of ring Brenda was expecting. She lies and tells him that she is not ready for that step. They hug each other and share a tender moment. They begin to kiss.
 
The next morning, Brenda sits on Sonny's lap and kisses him. They talk about the party, Sonny gets her a cup of coffee. Cute scene with Sonny watching Brenda opening her presents. When she opens the present from Mike (its a picture of Sonny when he was 5), Sonny gets very quiet and abruptly leaves, kissing her goodbye. Lois checks on Brenda. Lois does not buy that Brenda is not hurt that she did not get engaged.  Sonny tells Mike to never use Brenda to get to him. Sonny apologizes to Lily for coming to blows with Miguel. Miguel tells Brenda he is sorry for ruining her party. Brenda feels that Lily is the one to blame. Miguel has no answers on how to fix things with Lily.

Brenda arrives at Kelly's and Lucky mentions that Sonny and Lily were talking there. Brenda goes to see Lily telling her that she does not appreciate the games she is playing with Sonny. She is turning to Sonny when she should be turning to Miguel. S&B discuss Lily and Miguel. Sonny reassures Brenda and they hug.

Brenda shows up at Luke’s and interrupts Lucy's conversation with Joe. Sonny comes up and kisses Brenda. Brenda questions Sonny about Lucy's plan with Joe, she's angry that Lucy is part of the plan and she's not. Lucy and Joe have dinner as Sonny and Luke look on. Luke and Sonny discuss Lucy and Joe after the club closes and discuss the plan to set Scully up. Luke and Sonny make a plan to get their hands on some illegal drugs to spike the Deception shipment with to bust Scully.

Brenda asks Miguel if he would be more comfortable if they reworked the concept for his video. Lois does not want to replace Lily. Sonny and Brenda are at the bar and the Cerullos, Ned and Lois show up and everyone hugs. Q's, Cerullos, Ned, Lois, S&B all playing craps in the back room at Luke's. Mike and Luke discuss the plan. Sonny's not happy about Luke involving Mike. Lois asks Brenda to be her maid of honor.

Back at home, an angry Sonny is pacing and venting to Brenda about Luke involving Mike in the Scully plan. Sonny tells Brenda that Mike is a con-man pure and simple. Later, Sonny in PJ's with a drink, Brenda in her PJ's comes out to talk to him. Sonny has tears in his eyes, Brenda sits on his lap and hugs him.

Miguel reworks a song and Lois and Brenda suspect it has everything to do with Lily. Lois wants Brenda to get over the bee she has in her bonnet about Lily. Luke, Sonny, Mike at bar. Luke, Lucy and Sonny. Sonny still wants Mike out of the plan. Touching Stone and Sonny scene as they talk about his dyslexia. Luke and Mike in disguise leave for part of the plan. Luke and Mike put on a show and hijack the truck carrying his drug shipment. Brenda comes home to the apartment to find Sonny in a funk. Sonny tells Brenda that he is worried about Luke as he brought Mike into his business. Brenda tries to convince him that Mike has changed. She asks for Sonny to give Mike a chance. They argue about Mike as he wants her to drop it and she refuses to and wants to be able to discuss it with him. She is sick of fighting with him just because she asked him what is wrong. He is also tense about Lucy being with Scully and the plan.
