SUMMARY
When a promising young boxer is beaten and left nearly dead, August hurries to his hospital bed. Arriving, he and Chase intercept a hitman who attempts to finish the kid off with a lethal injection. They pursue the would-be killer through the hospital, finally stopping him with a jolt from a set of defibrillator pads. Immediately, they sense that this case involves more than a random beating. August is visited by his former boxing coach, Frank, to whom he hasn't spoken since their falling out many years before. Frank says that he must tell August a secret that has been haunting him. But before he can reveal what we knows, Frank turns up dead, plunging the detectives further into mystery.

TRIVIA
The hitman who attacks Chase in Frank Hewitt's home and is later shot by Mr. Kemp is played by stuntman Kane Hodder, well-known to genre fans as the actor who plays famous horror movie killer Jason Vorhees in Friday the 13th 7-10. Steven Williams co-starred with him in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, the ninth film.
This is the first of two episodes to feature Sam Jones as a guest star.
We learn that August's nickname when he was a boxer was "the Sandman."
DAMAGE REPORT
Vehicles destroyed: 4 (3 cars, 1 van)
Chases: 3 (2 car, 1 foot)
Explosions: 2
BLOOPERS
As Chase and August approach Frank's home, a stair rail is visible through the window by the front door. Inside, the stairs are in the center of the house.
When the van crashes through the wood fence and races away, the window in the top of the front door is gone.
The license plate disappears from Chase and August's car once the chase begins, and the van's plate comes and goes during the scene.
When Chase picks August up in the parking lot, some of the crew can be seen in the passenger mirror as August gets into the car.
After the warehouse ambush, starting around the time Chase says, "That looks like it hurt," the boom mike is barely visible on the edge of car's roof.
