We come upon the fourth year since the death of Sephiroth and collapse of Shin-Ra. The Lifestream, now free of the dreaded Mako Reactors, replenishes itself with the spirit energy it had lost so long ago. As the planet began to mend, and with no technology to hinder its healing, the life force surged up through the world and spread at a rapid speed. With this surge came a kind of chaos that many considered the end of all things, that they could not survive the wounds. In fact, this chaos was not unlike that of a newborn planet, coming to life through tumultuous storms and hurricanes, earthquakes and winds. But this energy would not go unclaimed. As people began to renew their lives and search for other means of energy, there rose a great beacon in the sky: Dynamis.
Dynamis set out on a mission to revolutionize the planet, to succeed where Shin-Ra failed. A hope for the people, it secures their futures and offers them a new way to energize their homes and make life worth living again. And this time, there would be no damage to the planet. No unsightly reactors. No more sins.
It seemed too good to be true. For some, it was. The Alexandria Company soon followed, rising up from the same ashes as Dynamis and began to make its own purpose in this new world. But there are those who doubt. Conspiracies choke the atmosphere of small towns and rural country, whispering of unspeakable crimes. There even comes word of a new Materia unlike any they have ever seen. No one dares to touch them, for their power seems too cruel to harness. Mutated Materia, it's called, though no one can explain their creation, what with Mako reactors no longer among them. Still, there are those who are determined to investigate this... and there are those who will deal the justice that is deserved... by any means possible...
