Blue and Red Regular Codes |
Now I dont know who in their right mind would still want this really stinky version of pokemon still but have the codes if you want them...
Hint: Dig advantage:
Dig is very effective against Ghost and Psychic Pokemon.
Hint: Stand on a tree:
If you have a Pokemon that knows CUT (TM 01), cut down a tree, stand on the place where the tree was cut down, save the game, and turn it off. Turn the game back on, select "Continue" and press A when the game starts. Your character should be on a tree.
Hint: Finding Pokemon in grass:
You can cut down the grass you catch pokemon in by using the Cut move.
Hint: Kakuna and Metapod:
Catch a wild Kakuna or Metapod. Put them to the day care center near Cerulean City. Wait for them to increase at least one level up. Pick them up and they will have the same attacks as their former evolutionary stage, but not harden.
Hint: Rare Pokemon:
You can catch evolved forms of rare Pokemon in the Unknown Dungeon (where you get Mewtwo). This includes Wigglytuff, Arbok, Sandslash, Venomoth, Kadabra, Parasect, Raichu, Hypno, Magneton, Dugtrio, Marowak, and Electrode.
Hint: Evolution:
Evolution has good and bad points. Good: Pokemon gain higher stats; you complete your Pokedex faster; useless Pokemon get much more effective (Magikarp into Gyarados). Bad: Pokemon learn attacks slower (Squirtle learns Hydro pump at level 42, Wartortle at level 47, and Blastoise at level 52, ten levels longer than Squirtle).
Hint: Stopping evolution:
Press B at the evolve screen.
Hint: Easy experience:
Trade all the Pokemon in your team to a friend, then trade them back. They will earn 1.5 times the experience points in battles.
Hint: Diploma:
Catch all 150 Pokemon in the European version of the game. Talk to the man in the Celedon Mansion's Game Freak corner (the man that is not using the computer). He will give you a surprise diploma.
Hint: High level Pokemon sightings:
At times Pokemon over level 100 will appear in the game. The following types have been seen at those high levels: Nidorino, Golduck, Electrode, Snorlax, Magnaton, Starmie, Mewtwo, Marowak, Goldeen, and Mew (when surfing up and down Cinnabar Island),.
.
Hint: Bulbasaur:
To find a wild Bulbasaur, search in the fields south of Pallet Town.
Hint: Charmander:
To find a wild Charmander, search in the Pokemon Mansion for about ten minutes.
Hint: Clefable:
To get this Pokemon, go to the top of Viridian City. Go to the old man and answer "No". Watch him catch a Weedle via a Pokeball. Then, Fly to Fuchsia City. SURF to Seafoam Islands and SURF up and down (while in the water) until Clefable appears. It should be at level 137.
Hint: Ditto:
Place a level 5 Magikarp at the front of the lineup and allow Ditto transform into it.
Hint: Fearow:
To get this Pokemon, go to the top of Viridian City. Go to the old man and answer "No". Watch him catch a Weedle via a Pokeball. Then, Fly to Fuchsia City. SURF to Seafoam Islands and SURF up and down (while in the water) until Fearow appears.
Hint: Gyrados:
Buy the Magikarp offered to you just before Mount Moon by entering the Pokemon Center. A fat man will ask you if you want a Magikarp for 500 dollars. Although it may seem like a bad price, it will be worth it later. Place Magikarp first in the list. When battling, switch Magikarp with your strongest Pokemon and finish off your opponent. Keep repeating this until it reaches level 20. the best place to train Magikarp is the Unknown Dungeon or Diglett's Cave.
Hint: Haunter:
You can also catch Haunter over level 100 by using the rare candy code.
Hint: Kangaskhan:
Go to Fuschia and SURF until reaching Sea Foam Island. SURF up and down until M Pokemon appears. Catch it, nickname it, and use one rare candy on it to evolve it into Kangaskhan.
The following steps can also be used to easily get a Kangaskhan on the Red version of the game, and may also work in the Blue version. Talk to the old man in Viridian City. Reply "No" when he asks you the question. Watch him catch the Weedle. Fly to Cinnabar Island and SURF to the east part of the island. Make sure you do not go on any grassy area. Keep surfing until a wild M' appears; it looks exactly like MissingNo. Capture him, then run from battle because it will act as if you did not catch him. He would always be at level 0. Then, give him a Rare Candy or make it at least gain a level. When he gains a level, he will start evolving.
Hint: Magikarp:
Magikarp's Splash move does nothing, except against Tentacool where it does instant damage.
Hint: Mankey:
To get Mankey, talk to the old man that tells you how to catch Pokemon. Then, go to the first patch of grass on the way to the Pokemon League. There are many Mankeys at that location.
Hint: Mewto:
To get Mewto, the rarest of all Pokemon (#150), defeat Pokemon League, and enter the cave in Cerulean city. Mewto is located deep within the cave.
Hint: Pikachu:
The first place that you can catch a Pikachu is in Viridian Forest.
Hint: Sandslash:
To get this Pokemon, go to the top of Viridian City. Go to the old man and answer "No". Watch him catch a Weedle via a Pokeball. Then, Fly to Fuchsia City. SURF to Seafoam Islands and SURF up and down (while in the water) until Sandslash appears. It should be at level 27 or 37.
Hint: Squirtle:
To find a wild Squirtle, search in the Sea Foam Island for about five minutes.
Hint: Wigglytuff:
To find a wild Wigglytuff, search in the secret dungeon in the tunnels that you get to by going through the stairs.
Hint: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo:
To capture all of these Pokemon, you must have a Haunter at level 60. Put the Pokemon to be captured to sleep, then use Night Shade to weaken them. Finally, use an Ultra Ball. Hold A until the ball opens, then let it go to capture them. If it fails, try the Ultraball again at least three times. Note: Articuno is very difficult to capture.
Another strategy is to use a powerful Raichu and Ultra Balls for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. For Mewtwo, try using Artcicuno first and freeze it with Blizzard and Ice Beam. Then, weaken it with other Pokemon before finishing the battle with a Raichu and Pokeball.
An easy way to catch the the legendary birds (Articuno,Moltres and Zapdos) is to put then to sleep using Gastly, Haunter or Gengar. Use Dream Eater until they only have a very small amount of energy left. Then throw Ultra Balls until they care caught.
Hint: Rare bird Pokemon locations:
Moltres (Victory Road), Articuno (Sea Foam Isle), Zapdos (Abandoned power plant).
Hint: Better Surf Zone Pokemon:
The more money spent to enter the Surf Zone, the better the Pokemon that can be obtained.
Hint: Use the instructions:
Read the instruction manual. This may seem obvious, but it really does help.
Hint: Change color scheme (Blue version):
Use the following trick when playing the game on a Game Boy Color. Press Down + B + Select (as can be done with any classic Game Boy Game) to change the color scheme to match that found normally in the Red version of the game. Note: This does not change anything in the game except its appearance.
Hint: All Pokemon (Game Boy emulators):
Have any Pokémon saved game inside the "battery" folder (e.g. PokeRed.sav). Rename the saved file to the opposite version (e.g. PokeBlue.sav). Run the emulator and catch all the blue version Pokemon. Rename the saved file to the original name (e.g. PokeRed.sav). You should now have the Pokemon from the other version of the game.
Hint: Getting Mew (Japanese version):
Collect all 150 Pokemon. There is a man in Celadon city in the building where Eevee was found that gives you a very special Pokemon. He is located by taking the path that leads behind the buildings at the farthest north point of the city. There will be a secret door in the building that is off set from the row. Climb the stairs to find a group of people working on computers, when the building is entered from the front. Talk to the man that is not working on a computer to collect Mew.
Go to Shion Town and change your Koiking's nickname to "Mew". Highlight the thirteenth tool on the tool screen and press Select(8). Attempt to change your Koiking's nickname again to any name. The monster will flash, but the name will remain the same. Mew will now be available.
Have at least fifteen items and a water Pokemon at the top. Go to any grassy area and highlight the thirteenth item and press Select. Get in any fight and run away, and you should have Mew.
All Pokemon (Japanese version):
Note: This code requires two Game Boys, a link cable, and the red and blue versions of the game. Begin game play and find your first monster. Locate the Charmanders field and capture one of them. Link both Game Boys and rapidly and repeatedly use the "Trade" option. All 150 monsters should now be available.
Raise your Pokemon to level 100 (Japanese version):
Go to the seventh item in "Tools" and press Select. Get into a fight, then press Select on the attack you dislike to change it. Note: The monster must have all four attack spaces filled. Win the fight. Your monster will become level 100 and will enter the next stage of its life, if available.
Pokemon hints: Item And Pokemon Locations
Master Ball in Silph Co.:
Go directly to the third floor in Silph Co. and defeat the Team Rocket member. Enter the room on the right and use the teleport. You will now be on the seventh floor. Get the Lapras and defeat Gary. Use the teleport to reach the eleventh floor. Win the battle against Team Rocket and Giovanni, then get the Master Ball from the President of Silph Co.
Fissure (TM27):
After defeating Giovanni for the Earth Badge, he gives you a TM: "Fissure". He will say that it destroys any Pokemon with one hit. It is useless against the Elite Four. (A "The Pokemon is unaffected" message will appear). Try not to teach it to Geodude or its evolutions because they can get killed too easily by many Pokemon.
Dig (TM28):
Dig is very effective against Electric Pokemon, which helps get the Thunder Badge.

Pokemon hints: Trainer And Gym Leader Battles
Recommended Pokemon for Elite Four:
Your Pokémon lineup for the Elite Four should be levels 50, and above and may include the following:
1. Electric type. (Electabuzz, or Raichu)
2. Water or Ice type. (Blastoise, or Articuno)
3. Psychic type. (Alakazam, or Hypno)
4. Fire type. (Arcanine, or Charizard)
5. Ground, or Fighting type. (Dugtrio, or Hitmonchan/lee)
6. Normal, or Grass type. (Tauros, or Venusaur)
Another suggested lineup is:
Charizard at level 79, Flamethrower, Ember, Cut, Fissure
Zapdos at level 70 or 80, Thunder, Thundershock, Sky Attack
Pidgyot at level 66 Fly, Wing Attack, Sand Attack, Gust
Rhydon at level 70, any attack
Starmie at level 80, Surf, Ice Beam, Swift
Lapros at level 80, Psywave, Psychic, Solar Beam, Mist
Agatha:
Agatha has the following Pokemon. Because no physical attacks will affect ghosts, use a Psychic type for all of Agatha's lineup.
Gengar at level 56
Golbat at level 56
Haunter at level 55
Arbok at level 58
Gengar at level 60
Three of her Pokemon are ghosts, but all are poison. Ground and psychic Pokemon work best against them. Even though the manual states ghosts have an advantage against psychic Pokemon, it does not seem to matter when fighter her ghosts.
Blaine:
To get to Blaine very easily, locate the tape recorder machines in every room by the trainers. They will ask you Pocket Monster questions. If you answer correctly, you will get to the next room automatically. If you answer incorrectly, you will have to fight the trainer. Continue until you reach Blaine.
Use Water Pokemon against him. He has Growlithe at level 42, Ponyta at level 40, Rapidash at level 42, and Arcanine at level 47.
Answer the six questions as listed to face Blaine.
1. Yes
2. No
3. No
4. No
5. Yes
6. No
Brock:
Use Water Pokemon against him. He has Geodude at level 12 and Onix at level 14.
Catch a Pidgey and raise it to at least to level 15. When you face Brock and he uses Bite, use the Sand Attack move. This cause Brock to miss almost every attack that attempts.
Bruno:
Bruno has the following Pokemon. You should have a Ice/Water Pokemon to take out the Onixes, and a Psychic (recommended) or Flying Pokemon to match up with the rest.
Onix at level 53
Hitmonchan at level 55
Hitmonlee at level 55
Onix at level 56
Machamp at level 58
Use Water and Grass Pokemon such as Squirtle and Bulbasaur when fighting Bruno.
Erika:
Use Fire Pokemon against her. She has Victreebel at level 29, Tangela at level 24, and Vileplunme at level 29.
Gary:
If Gary selected Bulbasaur, his Pokemon will be as follows. Use an Electric type for Pidgeot and Gyrados, a Water/Ice type for Rhydon and Arcanine, a Psychic type for Alakazam, and a Fire type for Venusaur.
Pidgeot at level 61
Alakazam at level 59
Rhydon at level 61
Gyrados at level 61
Arcanine at level 63
Venusaur at level 65
If Gary selected Charmander, his Pokemon will be as follows. Use an Electric type for Pidgeot and Gyrados, a Psychic type for Alakazam, a Water/Ice type for Rhydon and Charizard, and Fire/Ground type for Exeggutor.
Pidgeot at level 61
Alakazam at level 59
Rhydon at level 61
Exeggutor at level 61
Gyrados at level 63
Charizard at level 65
If Gary selected Squirtle, his Pokemon will be as follows. Use an Electric type for Pidgeot and Blastoise. A Psychic type for Alakazam, a Water/Ice for Rhydon and Arcanine, and a Fire/Ground type for Exeggutor.
Pidgeot at level 61
Alakazam at level 59
Rhydon at level 61
Arcanine at level 61
Exeggutor at level 63
Blastoise at level 65
After defeating The Elite 4, you will face Gary. His first half always is the same: Pidgeot, Alakazam, and Rhydon. His remaining Pokemon vary according to what your first Pokemon was:
Gyarados, Arcanine, Venusaur (if you chose Squirtle)
Arcanine, Exeggutor, Blastoise (if you chose Charmander)
Exeggutor, Gyarados, Charizard (if you chose Bulbasaur)
Try using Fire, Ice, Poison, Electric, Or Ghost Pokemon types to burn, freeze, paralyze (sometimes), or put his Pokemon to sleep. Also, most attacks do not affect ghost Pokemon.
Giovanni:
Use Water Pokemon against him. He has Rhyhorn at level 45, Dugtrio at level 42, Nidoqueen at level 43, Nidoking at level 45, and Rhydon at level 50.
You will find Giovanni at the following locations.
Team Rocket game corner (Celadon City)
Sliph. Co. building (Saffron City)
Viridian City gym (Viridian City)
Koga:
Use Fire Pokemon against him. He has Koffing at level 37, Muk at level 39, Koffing at level 37, and Weezing at level 43.
Lance:
Lance has the following Pokemon. An Electric type for Gyrados, and an Ice type for all the dragons and Aerodactyl are recommended.
Gyarados at level 58
Dragonair at level 56
Dragonair at level 56
Aerodactyl at level 60
Dragonite at level 62
Use any Pokemon that knows the ice type moves. All of his Pokemon are weak against that form of attack.
Lorelei:
Lorelei has the following Pokemon. You should have an Electric or Fighting type Pokemon in your team.
Dewgong at level 54
Cloyster at level 53
Slowbro at level 54
Jynx at level 56
Lapras at level 56
Instead of using fire Pokemon, try Electric and Grass Pokemon. However, be careful using Grass since her Ice Pokemon will have an advantage.
Lt. Surge:
Use Psychic Pokemon against him. He has Voltorb at level 21, Pikachu at level 18, and Raichu at level 24.
When facing Lt. Surge for the Thunder Badge, make sure you have a Sandshrew, Sandslash, Geodude, Graveler, Golem or Onix. Electric attacks do not affect those types of Pokemon.
Misty:
Use Electric Pokemon against her. She has Staryu at level 18 and Starmie at level 21.
Sabrina:
Use Dragon Pokemon against her. She has Kadabra at level 38, Mr. Mime at level 37, Venomoth at level 38, and Alakazam at level 43.
Note: Defeat the other seven trainers first to build up your Pokemon until they are high enough to face her. To get to Sabrina in the Saffron gym, go north (first block) then go northwest, southwest, and south. Note: She uses psychic Pokemon. It will be helpful if you have Sleep, Paralyze, Frozen, Burn, or Poison Pokemon.
