Sunny in the daytime, rainy in the evening.

Today was pretty good. I got up quite early, but there was no news. Sigh. I had a cup of coffee and then went back to bed for an hour. It was nice.

After my shower I set about turning the remnants of last night's dinner into soup. I made some chicken bouillion up into liquid and added it to the crockpot's contents, stirred it, and left it alone for the rest of the day.

I spent a goodly portion of the day trying to find a recipe for tonight's dinner on the internet. I didn't find a recipe that I really liked though.

When I went to my school today, I took my raincape. I got lucky last night, I didn't want to risk it two nights in a row. Good thing too. I made a brief bank stop and when I finished the gentle rain had become fierce. I slipped on my cape and went on my way.

The first class I had wasn't great. The student was in a strange mood, wouldn't settle down and wouldn't co-operate. He's been doing so well lately that I was surprised. We got through the lesson, but only barely. My second class was fine. The student came and we had a nice discussion about hairdressers and weekend plans.

After my classes, I cleaned up and called Fumihiko. He was in the bath when I called! I told him to relax, but to come and get me when he was ready. I was reading my Ken Follett and enjoying myself, so I didn't mind staying longer.

On the way home, we detoured through the grocery store. We got apricot jam, bagels, gyoza, cheese and beer. I don't know why we needed that last item....

At home I got busy. I tried to find the recipe I'd seen earlier on the 'net for chicken with apricot sauce, but of course I couldn't find it! I decided to just wing it. I cut up the two remaining chicken breasts, then made a kind of sauce in my pan. I blended some Miracle Whip with some apricot jam, then added the chicken. I put the whole thing on low on the stove. I mixed everything well, tasted, and added a bit more jam, then some salt, pepper, curry powder, and garlic powder. Then I turned the heat off, and put a lid on the mix.

We started dinner with the soup. It was nice. I hadn't strained or mashed the veggies in the soup so it was a little chunky, but I like it like that. After our first course, I got Fumihiko to cut open the bagels, then I toasted them. While they were toasting, I turned the heat on again under the chicken, just to get it a littler warmer. I served my Apricot Chicken Salad on toasted soy bagels, with store gyoza, and caesar salad. Everything was really nice, and Fumihiko seemed to like the chicken salad this way. Yay.

He did the dishes, and then we spent another quiet evening together. It was quite nice really. He's just now gone to bed. Poor thing isn't doing well. His back is really bad these days. He says he's going to ask the doctor more strongly tomorrow to find out what's wrong. Sigh.

Anyway, that's it for me. I'm out of here. Wish me luck tomorrow. I have two classes, but they're with children that I like a lot so it should be fine. Night night!
