July 3, 2008 - Thursday

Rainy, humid and cloudy.

I had an okay day. No news on of course, so I napped on the chesterfield, but had two emails come in on my cell phone. Not such a good nap! And, I did go to bed early last night, but for some reason I was tired this morning!

Had a quiet at home day. I tried to watch Sukiyaki Western Django, but it was bad. I know some people liked it and think it's cool, but some of the actors' English was just awful. I think if I'd made a concerted effort to just watch the movie, rather than surf blogs while I watched, it might have helped, but really, I'm not sure. I wanted to like it...it was filmed in my city. A friend of mine even met most of the cast. I'll maybe give it another chance someday when I have nothing better to do.

I had an interesting omelette today. It was cheese, ham, veggies and chicken. It was nice. I overcooked the eggs so it didn't fold well though.

I left for my school around 5 and made good time. Luckily it didn't rain. I stopped at a drugstore for more toothpaste then hit my school.

I only had one class today and it went quite well. We had a nice chat and then did some reading about Antarctica and the Beatles.

Fumihiko and I had a nice dinner in Cocos tonight. There's a new waiter working there, he seems okay. I still shudder when I think about the old terrible waiter they used to have. Ugh.

Fumihiko was having a very bad back day today, probably because of the terrible weather. He didn't want to think about anything, so we came straight home after dinner. Poor thing. He's in bed, trying to sleep now. Not really succeeding.

That's about it for me. It was an okay day today.

Oh, one thing I forgot to write about yesterday. As I was on my way to the mall, I went past two young girls. They were walking home holding long stems of bamboo with paper tied on them. I assume that they were Tanabata decorations. The girls were giggling with each other and then when I saw them and they saw me we all got big grins on our faces. Just a cute little vignette that I want to remember.
