Boys to Men
5-30-98, 9:00 a.m. Somewhere Over Nevada
Guile had calmed down since the meeting but was still irritated that he wasn't chosen as leader. He was currently in a private plane going to the gateway. He was researching his opponents as he always did before he went into battle.
Ryu Kawasaka, a 25 year old Japanese 5-foot 11 Martial artist. Brown hair, brown eyes, wears a white sleeveless uniform and red bandanna. Born in Japan, trained on a remote island by an unknown man known only as Sho. Traveled the world for about 6 years, and has amazing powers. Father named Gohan, mother Akita; both deceased. No living family.
Ken Masters, a 25 year old American 5-foot 10 Martial artist. Blond hair, blue eyes, wears a red sleeveless uniform when fighting in tournaments. Born in California, trained on a remote island by an unknown man known only as Sho. Won over 300 tournaments in a 5-year time spread. Is ranked number one in the world by tournament standings, and has amazing powers. Has a father named Joseph, 56, and a mother named Rebecca, 52, who are billionaires and own hundreds of residencies around the world.
Lou Kang, a 26 year old Chinese 5-foot 10˝ Martial artist. Black hair, brown eyes, wears black and red pants and no shirt when fighting. Born in China, trained by Sholin Masters in China. Worked with superstar Johnny Cage and best friend Fei Long in Hollywood for 3 years. Has great fighting potential but has only fought under private arenas. No known father, mother, or siblings.
M. Bison, a Soviet Union 6-foot 5, 285 lbs. Super powerful being. Brown hair, brown eyes, wears red Russian combat suit. He is bent on the idea of world conquest. He has his own army and nuclear weapons. Has been involved in over 50 separate unsuccessful attempts involved in world domination. Currently involved in an another plan involving Shao Kahn.
Kano Escabar, a 30 year old American 5-foot 8 Martial artist. Brown hair, one blue eye, and wears black tank top and pants equipped with his signature army knives. Had one eye destroyed in a battle with Major Sonya's forces by Captain Jax Williams. Born in New York, Underground crime lord at large. Has a very large criminal empire and is tied into assassinations around the globe. Is convicted of the 1st degree murder of Major Sonya Blade's fiancé Bolrog Tyson, the world boxing champion. Owns New York and half the people in it whether they know it or not. Currently involved in a worldwide domination plan involving Shao Kahn.
"Wow," thought Guile as the plane started to land, "All the big boys. Damn, this is it."
Raiden's Realm
"Lou, help me"
Lou Kang saw the woman of his dreams. The same woman that he had been seeing since he was 16.
"Please hurry Lou."
She was a beautiful 20 something, black hair, blue eyed, purple body suit wearing, Asian. She was perfect. She used to just call for him, but recently the messages had become more and more urgent.
"I need you Lou. Please don't let me down."
Lou awoke in a hot sweat. Raiden was beside him. "You were dreaming of Princess Kitana."
Lou was still sleepy, "What?"
"The dream, it was princess Kitana calling for you. She needs you to help her."
Lou was stupefied, "What! I always thought she was just my dream woman. She's real?"
"Yes," answered Raiden, "she is Shao Kahn's prisoner. Only you can save her."
"I'll do it. I'll save her. I mean, I don't even know the lady, but I know I love her already."
"Yes, let us practice."
Shao Kahn's Castle, Outworld
Montaro limped his battered, broken, body towards his master. Shang Suang stopped him at Shao Kahn's throne room.
"Montaro you freak! How could you manage to get a whole extermination squad killed in less than three hours? I know Kain is good but he isn't unstoppable! Go and face your consequences you worthless slime."
Montaro flinched his body as Shang Suang disgustedly spat in his face. As Montaro lowered his head and slowly dragged himself to his punishment, he thought to himself, "I can't believe I was beaten. I've never been beaten before." He then thought of his family, "My wife Sinaya and my sons are so beautiful. I hope they will survive. I love them so much. I'll miss them with all my broken heart."
When he approached Shao Kahn he was smiling.
"Emperor Kahn, I failed at capturing the fugitive. I'm sorry."
The emperor growled, "I know you are maggot!"
"I know the consequences of failing you, and am ready. I have served you for over 70 years, and I only ask for one thing. Please spare my family."
Montaro dropped his head in sadness. He felt like he let his family down. He looked up at Shao Kahn who said nothing but was still smiling.
"What," thought Montaro, "I've only seen Shao Khan smile when he has done something evil!"
Montaro started to get mad. "What is wrong with you?"
Nothing, just that same evil grin.
"What do you want from me!!" yelled Montaro starting to lose his sanity.
Shao Khan spoke, "To see this." He then snapped his fingers and had his guards bring something under a blanket. Whatever it was it was large and bleeding, as Montaro could tell by the mess creeping onto the floor.
"Take off the blanket."
When he saw the blanket Montaro knew what it was, but he had to see it for himself. When he had gone home after losing the battle, his family was gone. He had wanted to say goodbye to his family before his execution, but as he walked into the empty hut he realized what had happened.
As he took the blanket off he screamed, his family lying dead before him. Eyes gone, and every bone had broken in their poor lifeless bodies. Blood covered them all. It was one of the most horrifying things Montaro had seen in his life.
He fell to his horse-like knees in pain and sorrow. He sat crying and staring at his lifeless wife and sons. Tears streaming down his face he fully lost his sanity and started speaking gibberish.
Laughing the whole time, Shao Khan said to him, "Montaro, do you like it? I did it myself. Your wife was the best, she screamed your name the whole time. She always thought that you would save her until her last breath. Ha, ha, ha!! That's what you get for letting one warrior, one warrior!!! Beat your whole pathetic extermination squad!!"
He turned to his guards, "Take him to a cell, and bring his family with him. I'm sure that he would love to spend the rest of his wretched life watching them deteriorate before his eyes!! Ha, ha ha!!"
Shao Kahn stopped laughing as they dragged Montaro out of his throne room. He then called to Shang Suang, "Come here shapeshifter."
Shang Suang quickly ran into the room, "Yes, master?"
"Send the Earth Warriors and Raiden a little present from us. Send Scorpion, Sub-zero, and Ermac to show them what they are in for. It's time to start training, prepare the warriors for Mortal Kombat!"
Raiden's Realm
"Now that you have your powers, it's time for you to learn how to use them."
Ken excitedly asked, "You mean fight?"
Raiden, obviously annoyed that he had been interrupted, answered, "Yes, Masters. That's exactly what I meant."
Ken nodded, "That's what I'm talking about. Hey, if I was running this place we would have been fighting a long time ago."
Raiden rose his arms and suddenly the surroundings changed. The misty atmosphere was transformed into a Utopia. Green grass, meadows, rivers, lakes, hills, mountains and caves now surrounded them.
All three of the mortals gasped at the same time as they saw the power Raiden possessed. They walked around studying their new surroundings.
Lou Kang smelled the flowers, "Everything is real."
"Of course, "spoke Raiden, "why wouldn't it be? When I make something I make it well."
Ken was again impatient. "Raiden, are we going to fight or what?"
Raiden answered, "Yes, Ken. You all will fight, but with a small twist."
Lou Kang was interested, "What twist?"
Raiden smirked, "I will cheat!"
Everyone watched Raiden raise his arms to the sky, become electrocuted, and instantly shoot out hundreds of sparks that on contact of the ground become white ninjas.
Raiden spoke with a sarcastic tone, "Have fun."
Ken sadly asked, as he saw that he was surrounded by hundreds of masked ninjas, "Oh man! Come on Raiden, do we have to fight? Why couldn't we just sit and meditate?"
His answer was a white ninja doing a jump spinning hook kick to his face.
"Oh boy."
Area 54, Arizona
Sonya yawned as she walked off the plane. She turned back to her team, "Come on you guys, we're here!"
She watched as Captain Jax slowly woke up and walked out of the plane. Dee Jay closely followed behind him yawning, "We're here already? Wow, that was a short flight."
General Nightwolf met them all at the hangar entrance. "Major Sonya, nice of you to make it so early, Colonel Guile joined us about an hour ago so we are all here. You all have been properly debriefed, correct?"
Sonya answered for all of her team, "Yes, sir."
As he took him to the room that Guile was waiting in, Sonya realized that she couldn't wait to see him again. She was so fascinated at his military record. He had single handedly saved the world from the threat of General Bison over 30 times. She knew about how his partner Charlie Combs, had been killed by Bison and how his crusade for justice had been almost obsessive. And by that she felt so close to him, because she was just like him. But for her it had been her love…. But basically they had the same goal in life, To take murderers of the street, one way or the other.
Her eyes caught Guile's as they saw each other, an unseen embrace. She tried to stay professional, "Colonel, nice to see you again. Well it will be nice to be working with you."
He answered looking deep into her eyes, "Please, call me William."
"O.k. William, I would like to personally like to introduce you to my team, Captain Jax and Lieutenant Dee Jay."
He shook their hands, "It will be a pleasure working with you."
As they started to walk to the gateway Dee Jay whispered in Jax's ear, "I wander if we get to call him William too." They both chucked at the joke.
Their mouth's dropped open as they saw the gateway. It was a large oval that was about 30 feet wide and 40 feet high. It was spectacular with thousands of colored blinking lights and in the middle was a metallic colored gel like substance.
Jax looked mouth wide open, "We have to go in that?"
"No," answered General Nightwolf, "you are going in that."
Sonya shook Nightwolf's hand, "Make sure you have a gigantic parade in our honor when we get back."
Nightwolf nodded, "Make sure you make it back."
Guile watched as Sonya hugged Nightwolf and whispered something into his ear. Nightwolf nodded and walked away.
Sonya and her team faced the gateway armed with only their fighting skills and desire to protect the world from the horrifyingly evil threat beyond the gateway. There sat the world's only hope, in the form of the military's four most powerful beings. Shoulder to shoulder their names were Sonya Blade, William Guile, Jax Willaims, and Dee Jay Taylor who were turning their back on the world of their origin to protect it. Led by Sonya Blade the team would either eliminate the threat or die trying.
Sonya facing the portal yelled, "Let move team!"
Nightwolf watched as Earth's last known hope went through the gateway on its most important journey.
"May god help us all."
