The Story of "Little Nemo"

{Nemo and Friends} I remember when my brother and I went to Sears. We looked around at the NES games, and we bought Little Nemo, The Dream Master because we thought it looked so cool. We had read about it in a magazine previously. When we got it home, we played it for awhile, but I was never to great at the game. At that time, my brother and I had our NES hooked up to the "good" TV in the basement...it had a pretty large screen. Not as large as today's standards, but large at the time. Due to this, my parents made us take 15 minute breaks between every hour of game playing, for they didn't want the game image to get stuck on the TV screen. Due to this factor, I never got really far in this game until we moved the NES upstairs to my brothers room. Then I did really great, and eventually I won the game. I really loved the whole game, but where did this Little Nemo thing come from? Did Capcom design a few characters and a storyline, or did Little Nemo date back many years before? If I had only known what I was getting myself into...wow.
{Nemo and the Princess} Apparently this Little Nemo thing started in the early 1900s, by a dude named Winsor McCay. He had developed a sunday comic strip entitled Little Nemo In Slumberland. This comic strip ran from 1905-1914. During this time, Nemo became very popular, and he found himself appearing on numerous things. You can view part of an old comic strip here if you wish to.

The question is why did Capcom decided to revive the Little Nemo thing? Probably due to many factors. Numerous books and movies were made into games, why not a comic strip? A few examples of "cool" movie based games were Dracula and Frankenstein, just try to stay away from Jakyll and Hyde. Another reason of reviving Nemo probably had to do with hs comic revival during the 1960s. Hey, if people can revive something that recently, why not make a game?

The question that remains is "Is Little Nemo a good game?". Yes. my brother loved it, I loved it, alot of the NES community places this game high on the ladder of great games. The graphics are bright, the music is nice, and Little Nemo is sure to provide you with a few afternoons' worth of playing, if not more.
