Airball. Airball was supposed to come out for Nintendo around 1990 or so. Airball was a puzzle game that originated on Atari St, Commodore 64, and Amiga computers. It was apparently planned for Nintendo...infact two prototypes have been found for this game. From the screenshots I have seen, Airball reminds me of Solstice for Nintendo. I have never played Airball to know for sure though. The reason why Airball was scrapped was partly due to it's need of a special NES board type.

I think this story is funny. Several years ago, the beloved California Raisins were sypposed to be in their own game by Capcom. The California Raisins game was featured in several magazines. Infact one of the magazines gave California Raisins the "Game of the Month" award. Just to think the game never came out. I also have to say that there must be several proto copies of California Raisins since there were lots of reviews for this game. Check out some magazine scans for the game.

Box Ad From Wallybear Game
Next we have the game Crossbow. Crossbow was planned for Nintendo by American Game Carts Inc. In the one game, Wally Bear and the No Gang!, there was an add for the game in the train stages. A picture of the add is on the above right. Crossbow was a shooter game, sourt of like Chiller except for the fact that the settings were different. Crossbow was also an Exidy arcade game. It should have come out for it would have been neat. I also must say that the box art on the left is from the actual game.

Dream World Pogie was announced on the back of the Aladdin Deck Enhancer cartridge box. I talked with Andrew Oliver, one of the folkes who helped work on this game, and he said that the game made it into the form of an alpha cart. Somewhere ther is one of these out there, and I would love to see more of this fantastic game.

Here we have the game Earthbound. Earthbound came out in Japan known as "Mother". I really do not know why a US release never was. Earthbound was even mentioned in a Nintendo Power Magazine. I guess they decided to release it in Japan only for the Super NES was soon coming to America thus brining Earthbound 2, which may have been a better game.

The never released game Eon Man. I don't know much about this game at the current time.

Remember Operation Secret Storm? I do, it was that fun Beat em up Saddam Huessein game. Happy Camper was designed by the same person, Jon Valesh. Jon says that Happy Camper started out as a camping game which then turned into a game where you fight aliens and finally Saddam Huessein. This game looks cool from the boxart. I would have liked to see a release of this game. Jon also recalls that the game was incredibly hard--only he and a few others managed to make it out of the first stage!

This must be a joke! I was looking through an old magazine I had and I came across the boxart for Hard Drivin for Nintendo. This game was planned by Tengen. I own the Sega Genesis version which is basically a slow paced poor graphics racing stunt game. I think that it was probably good that Hard Drivin was cancelled. If the Sega Genesis version was bad, can you imagine the Nintendo version?

One of two games made for Color Dreams' super cart. Hellraiser wasn't really much of a game, but some art was done. A PC version was later worked on by Color Dreams.

Metal Man is another one of these "advertise on the Aladdin Deck Enhancer box but never release" titles. I really cannot say much from the picture.

This is yet another one of those unreleased Tengen games. Well actually there are two different Police Academy games for Nintendo. Steve Woita made the one. It was a fun action game that play tested well, infact it was half way done. It was scrapped when Tengen decided to place other people to do the Police Academy game. The second version was a Mario 2 - like game which tested poor. This version never came out either.

Everyone knows of the original Shadowgate, but fewer know about the unreleased sequal. The story was like this: Right before Jair's wedding, a Dark Wraith kidnaps Jair's betrothed. Another thing about this game is it takes place in the caves beneath Shadowgate and the Darkmages and Goblins found there.

This proto is of the unreleased game Squashed. It's the ultimate food fight. Go face-to-face against Vegetron, the hideous ruler of the mutant Squashelds! Pick whether you want to be a boy or a girl. Another game that went unreleased was Super Pitfall II. Super Pitfall II's prototype has been found and it sold on e-bay. The game was pretty much complete. The sounds, graphics, and many other aspects were all done. I know not why this game was unreleased, maybe because the first one wasn't very good?

Targhan was planned for Nintendo by Color Dreams. The game looks cool judging by the box art. Judging by the PC versions this game looks like a swords fighting game.

This is another one of the Aladdin Deck Enhancer never released games by Camerica. The game looks like your typical basketball game for Nintendo as far as I can tell.

This is another one of the Aladdin Deck Enhancer never released games by Camerica. This game was a classic Dizzy type adventure, not much is known of this unreleased tale.

Xybots was planned by Tengen. From the boxart, it looks like it would be a space shooter like game. The boxart came out of an old Tengen games ad I have, that is why part of Shinobi's box art is shown in front of the Xybots box.
