One of the rarer Nintendo test carts. The joystick test cart seems to test the controllers/joysticks that Nintendo made (doh). There really isn't too much to say about this thing, I guess it would be cool to own, but as for playing this cart, it wouldn't provide that much fun factor.

This joystick test cart has a damaged label, unfortunatly. As with most of the test carts, this one has the bright yellow casing.

Test In Action

This is one of several NTF2 Test Carts. I believe that these carts are rarer than the yellow versions. This cart seems to have been used for the following tests: Auto Test, Obj-Cha Test (object character test), Controller Test, Sound Test, and Color Test. I guess that with these basic tests, you could figure out what was wrong with most of the NES componets.

The NTF2 cart shown to the right has a hole drilled into it, for some reason that is unknown to me. Whoever owned this cart must not have cared about it too much--the label is scribbled on with a pen or too. There is also numerous dirt spots over the cart.

Main Menu
To the left you can see the main menu for this cart. This cart is version 1.0, I've also heard of NTF2 test carts of version 1.1. I'm not sure if there is any difference between the two versions or not. The title screen shows Mario there, floating, in the air. Then there's that blue border--this screen looks sourta cool, but I imagine the game is quite boring itself.

This is a Japanese proto of one of the test carts. I really don't know much about this, the game isn't available to the public, and the label doesn't reveal any clues considering the fact that I cannot read Japanese. I can barely read Latin for that matter, and I'm taking Latin classes.

I do see the date 1990 written at the bottom of the cart. I can also read the words CIC: 3193. Dunno what this CIC stuff is all about, and I will probably never know either.

Back of Cart
The back of this baby is pretty plane too. It's just a normal NES case, sans the labels on the back. We can only hope that our Japanese friends will shed a little bit of light on this matter...I do recall that this cart is was owned by NES.King before it was auctioned off to a mysterious person who's name I can't recall. A message for the mysterious person: If you are reading this, send in some pics from the cart running so I can add some more info!!!

This is all I can write about this cart. Lets take a look at the next test cart.

This cart is another proto of a test cart. This one was a US version, and it contains numerous tests including the Zapper and ROB!!!!!
