Nintendo
Released 1987
This cart is the exact same as the released version of Legend of Zelda. These were given to Nintendo Service Centers in the later days of the NES because the original Test carts do not "test" the older systems properly; the yellow Zeldas test out the features on the top loading systems, mainly color variations on screen which it seems the other test carts are not able to do as well.

Capcom

The reason why this proto is so special is because it is on a true Famicom prototype board with Wings of Ares in Japanese on the EPROMS. Wings of Ares is the unreleased Legendary Wings in Japan, therefore this is an unreleased Famicom game. Not known if this is different from the USA version. Title screen says "Legendary Wings." Owned by DreamTR, bought from nes4u on Ebay.

Three copies of this game exist. One owned by DreamTR, another bought off of Ebay by Dream TR, then another bought off of Ebay by Paul Hogger of Simply NES. DreamTR traded one of them to a guy in Vegas. One label says LITTLE LEAGUE on the back, other two says LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL. One was found overseas, weird how a proto would be found over there.

Capcom
Released 1989
This is a proto of Mega Man 2, found by NES collector Nuuska. According to Nuuska, the game reads Crashman like normal, so the MM2 Clash man thing must be from a different proto. Quote from Nuuska "
All the differents I can find is.. there reads Nintendo of America when you hit the power on. so its USA version. Then musics in PAL and PROTO are played in different octave.
I have played the proto near to the end.
So I think its complete game and and think that the proto is from Funente Oy (Its Finnish company which shipped in NES when it was popular)".

Konami
Release Europe Only
So we finally have a game that could give Wisdom Tree a run for their money. Unreleased NTSC game that is way different than the overseas Konami release in 1992. This game is copyright 1990 by Source, who in turn was getting distribution from Matchbox, hence why the label is the same as the other Matchbox protos...very incomplete, no sound; you can walk on spikes in some of the levels! Bought by DreamTR on Ebay.

American Video Entertainment
Released 1991?
This prototype is of the game Puzzle, by American Video Entertainment. I wonder how this game survived the fate of the otehr AVE stuff. Richard Frick said that most of the AVE stuff was shipped to dumpsters and landfills so how this survived is beyond me.

Camerica

Next we have Quattro Arcade 2. It contains 2 Dizzy games and a few others. Now it appears that there is an uncovered eprom on that board (I'm no expert, maybe it isn't) but wouldn't exposing that to light (camera flash) erase the date? Not good. DreamTR has a Linus Spacehead and Bee52 proto with inners that look just like it (One EPROM).
