Super Mario Bros. TV |
Nintendo always had its ways of marketing its products to younger gamers. By now Nintendo has seemed to have drawn away from this tactic, maybe kids are growing up too fast these days. Back in the early 90s, Nintendo marketed several TV shows featuring our favorite plumbers and Captain Nintendo. I never cared for the Super Mario Bros. 2 based TV shows all that much. They featured Bowser, but he had control over Wart's goons instead of his own. The shows were kind of boring and they weren't relevent to the games at all. Nintendo then got smarter. They released the Sumper Mario Bros. 3 shows, and also the Super Mario World shows. Both of these series' follow the games quite well considering they were TV shows. Plots were thick, featuing Bowser and his kids, the Doom Ship, and Neon Castle. Music from the actual games were implemented into the shows. There were several new characters such as a mummy and Oogtar, a troublesome cavedude. And who could forget Junior, the redhaired kid with the buck teeth? As far as I am aware, the Super Mario Bros. shows are not being aired anymore. This is a real shame, I only have a few episodes taped and I would love to view some of my old favorites. Below are some pictures of the episode Mama Luigi, one of my favorite shows. Oh the memories... |
