What a thrill *cough cough, hack, hack*

Let's see, I've had my heart broken once this past week, but only a little. There was a great house, great floor plan that is, up for rent in our area, but it rented before we could get in contact with the landlord, a lady that David has known for years. It would have been perfect for us, again.... floor plan.... but, it had roaches. They were all laying dead on the floors, which means that in 7 days there would be many more alive in the walls. I forget about roaches since we don't have them. It's been 14 years since we've been house hunting in Texas. I wonder if that house is the reason I'm coughing now? Well, beggars can't be choosers. My lungs will just have to live with whatever we can find/afford. And for 4 bedrooms with 2 1/2 baths, I'll wear a respirator.

So last night Craig's riding his bike down our street and some jerk comes speeding by and runs him off the road. If you were to go back through the archives you would probably find that this has happened before. His elbow and both hands are torn up pretty good. His right hand looks pretty painful and naturally the school is giving the TAAKS test today, or whatever they are calling their assessment exam these days. And of course he is right handed. His elbow keeps bleeding through the bandage. It didn't quite look like it needed stitches but maybe it should have been stitched. I thought at first he had been hit by a car again. That child has been injured so many times on his bike that I'm almost afraid for him to learn to drive.

Mo was laying up in the window last night and started growling and kind of barking under her breath. It turned out that kids were out there letting the air out of our tires. I guess they missed the 35 lb. dog laying in the window?

Happy Easter
S.S.D.D. here. No money, no special meal, not even a chocolate bunny.
Of course there is always the true reason for the day.

I'm in a bitchy mood. Great way to spend the day.
Our house goes on the market 10 days after my surgery, which is going to be done abdominally BTW. I used to pamper this yard. For over two years now I haven't been able to do shit and it shows. we've gone from one of the nicer yards on the block to the worst. Everyone has taken advantage of my (health) situation.
Why MOW? Why TRIM?
Weed the flower beds? Huh?
Thin them out? What?
You mean there aren't supposed to be little trees growing there?
Oh yeah that's right! *slaps forehead*
We don't really have a lawn in the front, so to speak. So many cars have been parked on it in the past two years that it's just packed dirt.
Fourteen years we've been in this house. Yup, that's a very long time to rent. But the rent has been low enough to keep us here. Now I have to go through 14 years worth of crap in two weeks time, with no energy, coughing with exertion, and virtually no help, and try to get this place in condition to sell.
And/or move.
Now you could say, "You worry too much", and you'd be right. But that won't change the fact that there will be a realtor (or realtors) here, inspector(s) and the landlord, who hopefully will be considerate enough to let me recover sufficiently before showing the house. She doesn't even know about the surgery yet. But... David just discovered a very nice brick house not far from here, for rent, this morning. So for all I know we may be moving very soon, depending on the price. Houses just don't come up for rent around here. For sale, yes. For rent, no. And it's available through a realtor that David has known for years, meaning that it may be rent to own.
One can always dream.

We really enjoyed our trip to Alabama. Tee and her family are great!
Dothan is a nice city. It's a sister-city to Waco in a lot of ways, but it's beats Waco in looks hands down any day of the week. Josh & I had reason to go into Waco this afternoon and man, what an ugly city. I see now why my dad always refers to it as "the ghetto". When we moved back here from Mansfield, Oh., Waco seemed sooo big and sooo clean, but now it's sooo crowded and trashy, and sun faded. I never noticed before that all of the signs on all of the businesses are faded. It looks awful.
but anyhow
as expected, a page is born
Meeting Tee
These pages feature pictures of us with Tee and pictures of the dozen+ murals painted on the sides of buildings in downtown Dothan.

Other than that, life goes on at home. We left the peace and quiet of Alabama behind and returned to the bullshit that is our life. Noise, arguing, etc. There was a baby rattlesnake in the parking lot at the gas station 4 doors down from here. We don't normally get rattlers in our neighborhood. We get an occasional copperhead, but not rattlesnakes. We live across the street from an interstate for crying out loud! Last year it was rabid skunks. I'm glad Mo's had her shots, but still, rattlesnakes in the neighborhood, and next door neighbors with chickens. This does not a happy Rhonda make.

Oh hey!
Unloco is getting plenty of air play now that they are on the Ozfest tour. The video Josh helped shoot (Bruises) will fade into oblivion but at least the band stands a chance of making it. They should, they kick ass.

Thanks for the basket Patty!!!
(not to be confused with Patti)

The Site Fights Blooming Baskets
Send a Blooming Basket!

For anyone who's never seen one of these, this basket will grow a little each day and reach it's maturity on May 7th....... the day I get out of the hospital! That's right, I got all of my clearances and the surgery is back on. This time it is schedules for May 5th. No visit to a hematologist either. Oh, and I did see the lung specialist, and "Dr. Dickhead" is no longer and associate there. YAY! So it's been an all around decent day.

Well, life sucks. Acknowledge. Move on.
And then something nice follows. That's life for ya.

My surgery has been cancelled pending....... whatever. I'm too much of a health risk right now. Duh? I made it past the cardiologist though with flying colors!!! He said that although my heart and lungs are long and narrow from years of lung problems, and although I do have a heart murmur caused by a leaky valve, it's nothing to be the least bit concerned about. The echo showed that my heart works perfectly. So that's two down. But the GYN wants the big approval, the lung specialist, and I can't blame him at all. I know all too well how my lungs react to anesthesia. He also wants me to not be anemic. Well, that could be a problem since I kind of need the surgery first for that one, but a guess we'll be seeing what a hematologist can do about that. I sure do hope our insurance company stays understanding about all of this! So in light of all of the crap and the fact that I'm an emotional basket case, I've had my Paxil upped. Do I hear an amen?!

Ah, but believe it or not, that's NOT the good thing that has happened. We, we being myself, David and Craig, are going to Alabama this weekend where Tee and I will finally meet! And I will be free to laugh my ass off.
Wait.... I don't actually have any ass to laugh off....

So remember that surgery I'm having... or not... on the 14th?
I'll know by as early as the 7th or as late as the 9th whether or not the surgery is a go. It was on as of yesterday since the insurance finally gave their approval. And I got medical approval from the neurologist. But I also need approval from my GP and a lung specialist. I went to the GP today, which is why there is now a monkey wrench in the works. Because of some new developments I have to see a cardiologist first. Luckily I will be able to see one on the 7th, and with any luck he will decide that all is well and the surgery can stay as is. I also have an appointment on the 9th with Dr. Richie, an associate of my former lung specialist. It makes me nervous but I can't really do anything about it since they are the only one's in Waco. He has a very good reputation though so I'm hoping for the best. In the meantime I'm not getting any less anemic. And I'm really getting sick of this shit.

Next In Line have been mixing their first CD and hopefully it will be available soon, especially since Matt will be moving in the fall. He will be attending the "School of Arts and Television" in NYC. So someday when Matt Gillespie is a household name, be sure to look for all of the photos and videos I will be selling to the tabloids --- J/K Matt, you know I love you. You're my favorite e-card victim. And if the rest of you don't know what I'm talking about then shame on you! Go to my card site right now!!!
