I'm back again so soon. You've guessed that I haven't uploaded this yet, huh? L-3 Communications (where David works) is doing something different this year. They are trying to arrange for Craig's JROTC class to do the flag salute for president Bush, then meet him and tour Air Force One. They are trying to set it up for sometime around the end of his vacation. That would be some hard practicing for the inexperienced freshmen.

Correction: 6:30 a.m.
Make that where David worked. He just called to say he was laid off. Don't despair, this may just be a good thing. We don't know yet.

So as I was starting to say, the only new house pictures I've added are of the nifty shelves my dad made for my salt & pepper shakers. Check 'em out!

Like I said in yesterday's post, which is below, our computer is being a piece. The fan is out . . . again . . . so I have to shut down for awhile before I can type anymore. But to quote Arnold,
eh, you know the rest.

9:00 a.m. and I'm back to attempt to finish this up.

Tracee's dad was also laid off, along with most of Craig's friends parents and most of David's friends at work. We don't know yet if Richard's dad was laid off since he's off work today having teeth pulled. It's heart breaking to live where we do today and watch all of the people who have been laid off leaving with their tool boxes and the scared looks on their faces, or coming toward work with pick-up trucks to get their tool boxes and with scared looks on their faces. the lay off is expected to be around 300 people this time.

So as I started to say yesterday before the computer got too hot, Scott is finally enrolled in school and has his schedule. He will start school Sept. 3rd at T.S.T.C. (Texas State Technical Institute), which is pretty much in our front yard, majoring in Digital Media Design.
I'm jealous. LOL It looks wonderful to me.
We definitely need a better computer just to hold any programs he might need to use at home *big sly grin and wiggly eyebrows*

And I'm off again . . . I miss everyone

Today is Craig's first day of high school.

I don't know yet how it went yet and will probably have this uploaded before I do know. He's following in Scott's footsteps and taking JROTC and in both brother's footsteps and taking theatre. The principal in trying to do away with JROTC, which is ridiculous since the school is named for an Air Force commander and they have made such a big deal of that fact in the past couple of years. The principal has decided that it should be a much more strict program. It does seem to have gotten kind of lax the past couple of years (from an observers point of view). One of the things they are considering is having college students join too, so Richard said if they do that he will re-join and whip Craig into shape. He had reached the highest rank possible when he was in high school.

The kids are very disappointed in the Theatre Arts teacher right now. Matt & Tracee worked their asses off to earn their letter jackets and won't be receiving them because Mrs. Conner didn't order them. We went through this with Josh too. She finally did order his but we had to deliver it to him in Phoenix, which means so much less to a kid. They also didn't get to have the annual theatre banquet this year. I don't know any details concerning that since I had just had surgery and wasn't involved in any meetings, if there were any, and no one has filled me in as to why there was no banquet. The boosters are usually involved in it but the boosters were very disorganized last year. Unless there is a new crop of freshmen parents involved I won't be surprised if there are no boosters this year. But that's beside the point. She has decided to hold a reunion with all of her students from the past 6 years that she has been teaching there. So last year's students feel cheated, and rightly so, and certain former students . . . like my sons, are downright hurt since they weren't invited at all! One could argue that it's because we just moved if it wasn't for the fact that she has emailed some of the invitations, plus we have that whole change of address thing going on.

So in the The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same file

David may be getting laid off this week.

Our air conditioner caught fire a couple of days ago. Normally that would be cause for concern, but this is the 3rd time this has happened to us . . .
in three different houses!!!
I'm getting a little paranoid.
And our computer is being a piece, so I need to get going and find someone who will be kind enough to let me upload this :)
later
