Hot and sunny. Lovely day.
Got up this morning, no news again. Honestly, how much more baseball can there be? And why are we subjected to it every day? I slept on the couch for a bit, then did the computer thing before taking a shower.
Today I left for the school a few minutes before 4. I wanted to go a little earlier, but didn't. However, I did get everything ready early for a change so I was able to leave just after Cold Case finished. When I got out onto the driveway, I noticed a big chunk of concrete sitting in the middle of the road. I did my civic duty and moved it. I'm not sure how it got there, but I could just imagine the damage it could do to a bicyclist in the dark or a car if the driver was distracted.
My school was so hot today! It was 29 degrees when I first got there. That was hot. I tried opening the window to cool it down, but it didn't work fast enough so I had to close the window and turn on the AC.
Classes went well today. In my second class, because I'm such a mean teacher I gave them a Canada quiz. They failed! I'll post it at the bottom if I remember. After class, they left and I cleaned up. I noticed that I'm almost out of sugar and creamer, so I'll have to try and get more soon.
Last night when we came back from Sakata I suggested to Fumihiko that we eat at the grocery store tonight. Well, not actually AT the grocery store, more courtesy of the grocery store. Then, we could bring all the food we bought home and have a picnic. That's what we did! We got some sushi, some cooked chicken, an individual salad each, plus some tofu. We had iced coffee to drink with it too, and it was all very very nice. We sat on the couch, talked and ate. I hope we do it again! Tomorrow I should cook, but we'll have to get some veggies as they were out of the kind I like tonight.
After dinner, I rinsed the plastic trays for disposal or recycling, then did some printing for my husband. It's not fun! He's quite picky about formatting and as I can't read what he's written, I can't be sure I haven't erased some of his work. Still, we did it.
I had a panic moment when I noticed my show wasn't taping, then I realized that it's on tomorrow night. Whew. Basically that was it. A pretty good day.
Okay, so here it is, the Canada Day quiz. It's quite easy, although my students didn't seem to think it was.
1. What is the capital of Canada?
2. How many provinces and territories does Canada have?
3. What are some of Canada's important industries?
4. Name 3 Canadian singers. Name 3 Canadian actors.
5. Why is your teacher making you take this quiz today?
You can choose to answer if you like, but there aren't any prizes. Sorry!
Night.
