What a day! We had a late night last night. After the party in Sakata we didn't do anything really exciting, just came back to the hotel, then went out to a convenience store. I read my book (Marian Keyes - Cracks in My Foundation) and vegged. The hotel room was hot. It was so hot that I turned the air conditioning down to 20 degrees AND Fumihiko opened the window. It didn't help. I think the air conditioning was either set for heating or was broken.

This morning we had breakfast at the hotel, then we zoomed over to immigration to get my new re-entry permit. The guy was worried about the month or so left on my old one, but I wasn't. The chances of me being back in Sakata in the next couple of months with a ride to the immigration office are slim to none, so I'll gladly forfeit it. Anyway, I'm good to go abroad if the mood or need takes me. And, in a fit of independence, I made my husband stay in the car while I went in by myself. It's not like it's really complicated after all, so I didn't need his "help". I put quotes around the help bit because I always seem to end up fighting with my husband when he comes to do anything official with me, so I'd rather take care of it myself.

When we were driving back to Tsuruoka, Fumihiko asked me how much money I'd made this year. I was a bit ticked off. I've been asking him for the last month when he needs that information and he hasn't answered. Then, he asks me when I'm in a completely different city from my accounting books. Plus I have to guestimate how much I'm going to make in the next month and a half. ARGH.

We went home, I checked email and read blogs, he did some tax stuff. Then, we went over to the school, I gave him a ballpark figure and then we went to the doctor's office. Today was Flu Shot day for us. After getting pneumonia last year, I really didn't want to risk getting sick this year, and I'm mostly over my cold too, so it was time. It wasn't too bad, but we did have to wait for ages in the doctor's office.

We had lunch at a mostly new place for us, Junior Paper Moon in Voice. It was okay. I had carbonara, but it wasn't spectacular and Fumihiko had penne with gorgonzola sauce, but it looked a little runny. Still, we were very hungry at this point, we hadn't eaten since 9 am and it was around 4.

After lunch we hacked around some of the stores in the neighbourhood. We looked at the furniture store, but didn't buy anything, then at the second hand store. I got a cd and Fumihiko got a dvd. He got Practical Magic and I got a Faith Hill cd.

We came home for a while and after not finding The English Patient dvd, which was the one I wanted to watch tonight, we watched Practical Magic. I was surprised to hear that Faith Hill was on the soundtrack of the movie, in fact the song is on my new cd. Weird coincidence! The movie was fun. I'd seen it years before but had forgotten some of it. Nicole Kidman was very much the "second" actress in the film behind Sandra Bullock, and the bad guy was Goran Visnjic, ER's Luka.

Hubby and I went out to Gusto for a quick and late dinner, then came home and watched ER and then Ugly Betty from a few weeks ago. I didn't mind really. And that was that. The weekend is over. Sigh.

Tomorrow we're both back to work. Wish us luck! Night.

My blog on Blogspot. NO annoying pop-ups, and with bonus pictures too! I'm running out of space on Angelfire and will probably move the daily blog portion to Blogspot completely.
