HORSESHOEING/FARRIER SCIENCE Fee: $60
If you have been thinking about a career as a farrier or wishing you
could shoe your own horses, join an instructor with over 40 years
experience working in the field. The course is designed as an
introduction to horseshoeing and will give you enough information so
that you can work part-time or--with additional study–make a career
change. Instruction will include shoeing the hoof, trimming, and
forge work. In addition to classroom study, there will be field
trips to various stables for hands-on shoeing experience.
Accident insurance is required and can be purchased at the time of
registration for $2 from the Continuing Education Records and
Registration office. PRE-REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED; CLASS
SIZE IS LIMITED.

PET GROOMING (BEGINNING) Fee: $60
This program is designed for students who would like to work for a
professional pet groomer at entry-level position. Students will
concentrate on basic pet grooming for dogs. This will include
bathing, brushing, drying, nail clipping, ear cleaning, preparatory
clipping, and basic finishing techniques. Students will be
responsible for their equipment and supplies. PRE-REGISTRATION IS
RECOMMENDED; CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED.

VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT Fee: $60
This course will prepare you for entry-level employment as an
office assistant in a veterinary clinic. You will learn basic office
procedures, client relations, animal behavior, breed temperament,
obedience and restraint techniques, CPR, animal disease and
disorders, how to administer medication, and medical treatments.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED; CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED.
