Jeff Moore was drafted by the MetroStars in the 6th round of the 2002 MLS Superdraft.
Before coming to the Metros, Moore attended Richard Stockton. Moore became a regular starter in his rookie year as
a MetroStar. He started 17 of 18 MLS games he played in, and started both Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games the
MetroStars participated in. Moore had a very good rookie year, and is loaded with potential to be the best
defensive midfielder in MLS. He played his 1,000 minute in a 0-3 loss to the Chicago Fire. Moore scored his first ever
goal for the Red and Black in a friendly versus Boca Juniors of Argentina in 3-2 win. He assisted on 3 goals.
Moore also has a very good collegiate history. He hold the Stockon record for most assists in a collegiate career, with
48, and most in a season, 19. In his senior year, he was named to the NCAA Division III All-America second team. He was
also named to the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) first team for the third straight season in 2001.
