NES RacerMate Exercise Bike

Faster FasterRacerMate is one of game Nintendo collectors often overlook when purchasing NES games. Why? For thos who don't know, RacerMate was actually an exercise bike with a Nintendo built into it...and who's gonna be crazy enough to fork over $2500 or more for one NES game.

The RacerMate game featured 5 different courses, including the popular 13 mile Morgul-Bismarck road course near Boulder, Colorado, and the Columbia, Maryland, Triathlon course. Michael Crick helped design the RacerMate game. He took the concept from his 1986 game Go For the Gold on Commodore. The background was snagged from the archery event in Go For the Gold.

I can clearly see the resemblence that RacerMate is copared to Go For the Gold. While searching on a few Commodore 64 sites for pictures of RacerMate, I saw something else that was interesting. Remember the puzzle game Pipe Dream on NES? Well it was actually based off of a classic Commodore 64 title. Click here to read more about this.
