Maps and Geography

"The world is a larger place than you think it is, I'm afraid..."

- Theodoric the Old, Sage to King Pilheard of Calafia
in response to His Majesty

The World of Taranche is a disk-shaped flat plane, domed over by the arch of the sky.  The land area of this plane is composed of a single massive continent, along with thousands of islands ranging in size from a few tens of feet across to a few hundred miles across.

The continent Taranche is surrounded on three sides by great oceans: the EasterSea to the east, the Ocean of Black Storms to the south, and the Endless Ocean to the west.  While trading vessels and ships of war travel the coastal waters of Taranche, no ship has ever reached the far side of any of these three bodies of water.

To the north, Taranche is bordered by the Great Ice Wall, a range of gigantic mountains that begin on the shores of the EasterSea and span to the northern shores of the Endless Ocean.  North of this wall lies the Sea of Floating Ice.
