Grave is located in a small walled enclosure in Forsyth County in the woodsspouse: Wilcox, Martha (*1806 - )
on the Cox property which is between the Henry Cox place and the old Dempsey
Mill. The enclosure is made with field rocks and there are no markings on the
graves and there are no other graves nearby.Washington Hale moved from South Carolina to Georgia in 1829.
Seven of his sons served in the Civil War. Two died and one was injured.
He owned a large number of slaves.

By 1843, he moved his family to Cherokee County, Georgia in the Hichory Flat
Militia District, where he purchased 40 acres of land near Aubry Road and
Georgia Highway 140.

PRUITT had the listed sons and possibly a total of thirteen sons. The listed
sons are credited to him and wife Judith.William bought 100 acres on Terrible Creek,Halifax Co, VA, from his brother,
Thomas PRUITT, JR, on 21 Feb 1760. In 1764 he bought 50 acres on Catawba
Creek, Halifax Co, VA,from his brother Abraham. He was listed on the polls for
1764 and 1765. In 1767 William sold his 100 acres back to his brother,
Thomas,Jr,and his 50 acres to John SKAILES. It is believed that he moved his
family into North Carolina about this time.He was recorded in the 1790 and 1800 census of Spartanburg Distr, SC.
