Queensland Times Feature:

Our Local Newspaper, the Queensland Times (QT) used to run a small section once a week with the help of Bumper'T' Bumper, one of our largest Auto Accessory Stores . Bumper'T'Bumper would select a car every week and then the QT would run a small feature on it and the owner . Well "BADGirl" was picked and had her moment of fame . The Photographer who took the photo's informed me that after the feature was run, all photos were binned, so I hot footed to the Paper office and laid claim to the left over photos from the shoot .

A picture of My Honey, Brian and I with my Baby . These pictures were taken by the Journalist who had the job of taking the pics for the 'Motoring' section run in the Qt at the time along with the local Bumper'T'Bumper store . I had my day of glory with a Black and White feature .

And this is my moment of glory ! 

One of the few times our locals have supported us, the car enthusiasts, instead of the negative brownie earning bucketing we have copped of late from the fat lazy politicians and councilors trying to justify their high paid positions with some of the ridiculous suggestions to rid our streets of the so-called 'Hoons', but the minority scum who frequent our streets, as the cockroaches to society they are, will in the future still be running amok in our streets, as immune as they are today, who will they blame when the responsible car owners are finally gone ? Although it is classed 'not Fair' to lob all Car Enthusiasts into the same category of the senseless few who commit Illegal acts on our streets, would those bleating of these acts agree if they were lobbed into the same class of 'All Politicians are greedy money grabbers and child molesters' ? Or 'senile old geriatrics' ? because of the actions of some of their own from their own collective groups ?

The Ford GT Bonnet actually suited the shape of the Gemini, looks like it was made for it . Those 215 x 50 x 13 inch Bridgestone Eager's on the Front really filled the Front Wheel Arches, but the 352 Yokohama 235 x 50 x 13 inch Rear Tyres sat way out past the Original Sprint Flares, that's why I picked the CDT Gemini Flares, covered them beautifully !

'BADGirl' really looked different parked in my Mum's driveway, well a lot different from the last time she was parked here, Yellow sure looks a whole heap better than Red/Brown Etch Primer . The Tint was the darkest legal metal film I could get, though I would have preferred it to be darker .

Now if only the windscreen was this dark all the time ! All though my Baby looked like it was lowered, my Boyfriend actually lowered the car visually, the suspension was Heavy Duty Standard Height front & rear, the lowered look came by way of the Side Skirts being lower than the body, 1 inch lower than the sills at the front and 2 inches lower at the rear, clever hey ? Plus the front Spoiler was 2 inches lower than the front stonetray .

Brian spent around a week on each wheel, sanding the factory lathing out of the alloy face, then carefully taping up the rims before spraying them in the same Orange as that used on the Suspension . Then I topped them off with a set of Tri-Spoke Spinners . Looking back now I should have left the Splash Graphics off the doors but once you get the Bug its hard to stop, just like Tattoo's, more more !

Those Spotties, although not very aesthetic, really helped to light up the road at night, I used to drive a lot at night, the Spotlights had Quartz Halogen 150 watt bulbs and the Headlights had 130 watt High with 100 watt Low Quartz Halogen bulbs,  the Spotties were set so as to light the road up side to side, it would light up from house to house in normal two way streets, right to the tops of the light poles, made a few Truckies pull their heads in from the other side of the Highway :)
