Final Paintjob:The Paintjob, The Final Coat.
When We Arrived, It Was Off The Trailer and Straight Into The Shop, the Wide Wheels Came Off and the Standard Wheels Went Back On . My Boyfriend Started Taping Up the Body, as All the Underneath Had Already Been Painted With Black Stone Guard (The Stuff That You See Spayed Along Sill Panels To Stop Stone Chips) and Sprayed Black Over the Top, After All, it was to be Street Driven . The Next Morning We All Went Back Out, Resealed Some of the Tape Where it had Lifted, and Got Down to the Job of Painting .
We Had Chosen Straight Lemon Chrome Tinter, This Being the Brightest Yellow We Could Find Through All Our Colour Chart Searches, even Factory Paints Seemed Dirty and Lifeless . This Yellow Had the Slightest Tinge of Green to it, Giving it I Believe a Refreshing Look. Plus, My Choice to Go For a Straight Tinter Made My Decision Much Easier, By the Fact That in the Event of a Repair, At Least We Did not Have to Worry about Matching any Custom Paint Mix, Simply Walk in and Buy the Tinter, Right Colour Every Time, Luckily, We Never Got to Test That Theory Out either .
My Friend, Wayne Evans, Who Worked For His Father Dallas, at Walloon Panels, Had Painted a Number of His Cars and I Was Very Pleased with the Finish of His Work, So I asked Him to Spray My Car instead of His Father . He Was Very Nervous, Because it Never Worried Him Before if There Was a Small Run or a bit of Orange Peel, and it Took Some Convincing Before He Picked Up the Gun . He Took to it and Laid the 4 Litres of Lemon Chrome 2 Pack on Like a Pro, it Was So Wet With Such a Deep Gloss, I Think Even He Got a Swollen Head . We Were All Knocked Out By the Finish He Had Obtained as His First Job For a Customer, even if I Was a Family Friend . It's Good to See Wayne Gain the Confidence He Needed and He Has Now Branched Out into His Own Business, Which is Alongside His Fathers Panel Beating Shop, 'Perfection Fibreglass', Making, Fitting and Selling a Range of Scoops, Spoilers, Sideskirts, Aprons, Full bumpers, Wings Plus Fibreglass Repairs While His Father Does the Panel Work and Painting .
The Next Day When We Pushed the Car Out into the Sunlight, the Colour Was So Bright, It Actually Hurt To Look At It, We Went Over it, and The Finish Was First Class As 10 Trophies Later on Proved, and Best of All, Not a Run in Sight ! Even After 12 Months Plus of Showing, Every Day Driving and Not Having a Car Port or Garage, The Car Was Parked in the Elements, the Paint Was Still as Wet Looking and Shiny Looking as the Day it was Painted, Cool Considering it Never Ever Saw a Buffer or Polisher ! We Then Discussed a Price for the Painting, and As It Was His First Attempt was Reluctant to Accept Payment, We Insisted We Pay Wayne Something, so He Finally Caved In ! His Choice of Payment ? A Set of Car Seat Covers ($70) and a Set of Skull Lock Knobs ($14) For His Orange & Black R/T Charger . A Grand Total of $84.00 .......... Why Hadn't We Come Here Earlier ? Thanks Wayne !

The Paint Looked So Wet, We Thought it Would Just Run Off, (Why Not, It Did Last Paint Job !) Even In Poor Light That Yellow Was Bright !
( 'Right Click Image' ~ 'Open In New Window' )
It Was Amazing, We Could See Our Reflections Very Clearly As We Walked Around The Car .
( 'Right Click Image' ~ 'Open In New Window' )
Bright? At Least You Couldn't Say You Couldn't See Something This Bright Coming At You .
( 'Right Click Image' ~ 'Open In New Window' )
An Ocean Of Yellow, Well At Least The Mechanicals In Black And Orange Helped To Break It Up A Little . Wayne Evans, The Chuffed Painter Is On The Left Screwing In The Bonnet Adjuster To Keep The Bonnet Off Of The Radiator Support, While Brian Holds The Bonnet Up .

A Damn Sight Smoother Than When It Left The Factory At Acacia Ridge In Brisbane .

Man Talk About Bright, Oh, And For The Chrysler Fans, The 2 Door Coupe In The Background ? They Chopped It Up And Dumped It After Pirating What They Wanted For The Charger . Panel Beaters Huh ?
( 'Right Click Image' ~ 'Open In New Window' )
Not Bad, It Took Something Like 3 Years Of Hard Work And Heart Break Just To Get To This Stage !
( 'Right Click Image' ~ 'Open In New Window' )
Well, Who would Have Thought It Was Still 2 Years Away From Being Completed ?

Now A Short Wait For The Trailer And It's Back To The Upholsterers Garage, 2 Years Of Hard Yakka Coming Up !
