1850: Elijah and family lived near Thornton and G.W. Bradley, G.W. had Bradley
Dalton(48) and Mary Dalton(24) residing in his home (no relationship given).
1860: Elijah and family lived with John Johnson listed as head of household
with widow Anna Goodson and her children residing in the home. Also residing in
the home were grand children, Mary A. Johnson(20), John Johnson(6) and Mary
Bradley(49). John Thompson and Eli Bradley's family lived nearby.
The heirs of Leonard Johnson, with the approval of the Polk County Court,
purchased 73 acres, 'where Elijah Dalton lives'. This was to provide a living
place for Elijah and his wife, as will as Mary Matilda Dalton Johnson and her
children, heirs of Leonard.
