Stokes Co., NC., Deed Gift of Samuel Dalton Sr., dtd 24 Nov 1803, prob 1807.
This Deed give states that Samuel's property was to be divided into nine equal
shares, but only lists five children.
Albemarle Co., Va. Deed Book 9, page 271 - 4 May 1785 - Indenture in which
Robert Harris of the Co. of Surry, Province of North Carolina, sells to William
Dalton, of the Co. of Albemarle, Colony of Virginia, for 350 pds, a tract of
land in the Co. of Albemarle, Va. - containing 400 acres on the branches of
Doyles River, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Proved and recorded 12
Oct 1786.
Albemarle Co., Va. Deed Book 3, page 124 - 12 Jan 1762 - Samuel Dalton Sr. and
wife Ann convey 404 acres to William Dalton. Land in Albemarle and formerly
Louisa and Fredericksville Parish, both sides of the North Branch of the North
Fork of the James River, above Little Mountain.
Albemarle Co., VA., Deed Book 3, page 124, 24 Nov 1761:
Robert Harris made a deed of gift of 2 negro slaves to his son-in-law, William
Dalton on 25 Nov 1761. On the same day, Samuel Dalton Sr., and wife Anne, made
a deed of gift of 404 acres of land to their son, William Dalton.

John Mitchell, of Great Britain, Andrew Shepard, of Orange Co. Va. his
attorney, sell to William Dalton of Albemarle for L30, 277 acres adjoining John
Ennis, in Albemarle Co.
Draper Collection - letter from Samuel Dowell to Draper dated 26 Mar 1871, give
some genealogy of Dalton families. Reads in part " My gread grand-father Sammy
Dalton lived to be 103 years old and died in North Carolina. His son William,
my grandfather, married a Harris. I have seen her, near relatives and visit
them near Whitehall, near Albemarle Co. I don't remember her name, she was 15
years old when she married and grandfather was 18. He raised 14 children and
hedied at 65 years old and grandmother Dalton was very old when she died. They
were buried in Tennessee. The oldest child was named Lucy, She married John
Watts, he lived and died near me. Aunt Watts died in Missouri, Randolph county.
She raised 14 children. Her brother Robert Dalton married twice, lived and died
in Louisa county Va. and left by his last wife several children, he was about
90. Uncle Thomas Dalton lived and died in North Carolina about 100 years. One
of my aunt Dalton's married Thomas Stone of Albemarle Co. They died in
Tennessee about 1835. One aunt married a Hubbard, one married a Crite and my
mother was named Frances. She was the youngest child of William, moved west
before my day, so did John Dalton."

Yancy was a member of the Carpenter Union Local 819. He had served in WWI with
Co. L, US Army. During childhood and as adults; Yancy and his brother Ken were
constant friends and worked together as carpenters.
Obituary: Yancey E. Horne; Age 90 of 3921 Pinewood Ave., West Palm Beach, died
Sunday, March 6, 1983. He had been a resident of WPB for over 60 years. He was
a member of the First United Methodist Church; a Verteran of WWI, and a member
of the Carpenters Local #819 of WPB. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth M.
Horne of Jupiter, Florida; two daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mizell-Faville-Zern, a Guardian Plan Chapel,
4101 Parker Ave., WPB, where services will be 10 a.M. Thursday, March 10, 1983,
with Rev. H. H. Meckatroth, First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
