Nearby are B.F.Shaw(39) with wife, 3 children and Nancy E. Dean(18) living in
their home.
On the 1850 census, Vandaver is single, living at home with his widow father,
two sisters and a brother. Also in the house is an Uncle, Drury Sr.
Wm. must be separated from his wife Mary either for personal, financal, or
employment reasons. However, according to future census Wm. and Mary are never
found in the same home. Mary remains in Sumter to work as a midwife, with her
other children. Elizabeth who lives with Wm. and Francis who lives with Mary
appear to be twins.
