Game Review
In a must-win game for both Joshua Springs and Hesperia Christian, the Patriots came out on top 76-52. HCS' Josh Hamilton led the way with possibly his best overall game of the season with 31 points and 7 rebounds. Hamilton got strong support from frosh Sean Bayer's 10 points and 10 rebounds (his first double double of the year) and Soph Mike Petersen's 16 points and 6 rebounds. HCS set a new HCS record in Yucca Valley having only 4 turnovers all night. Lightning senior Nathan Rynning had his best game ever against HCS with 21 points but he had little support this game. Senior Josh Wagner had 9 points in the losing effort. HCS dominated the boards getting 44 rebounds. Again HCS failed miserably from the free throw line shooting only 53%. They shot 38% from the floor but that low percentage is offset by their rebounding and second and third shots. Soph Billy Hague continues his outstanding record of steals getting 5 tonight. Considering that HCS big man Lorne Barton is on the injured reserve list, this was a great win. By the loss, Joshua Springs was knocked out of the playoffs. HCS keeps alive their chance to get a share of the Agape title with this win. Next week begins HCS' Big Game week with games against the two first place teams in Agape, Apple Valley Christian and Antelope Valley Christian. Win them both and HCS is co-champions in the Agape League

Game Preview Hesperia Christian continues their quest to get a piece of the Agape League championship when they travel to Yucca Valley to play Joshua Springs. The Patriots took their first match against Joshua Springs 68-43. The key to beating Joshua Springs is keeping their senior star Nathan Rynning under 15 points and outrebounding the Lightning. Junior big man Lorne Barton is listed as doubtful for this game putting a lot of pressure on junior Nate Glass and soph Mike Petersen to pick up the slack for Barton. They will have to insure that Cameo Adams does not have a big game underneath the basket. Josh Wagner and Chris Bridenstine are the other weapons available to Joshua Springs. The Patriots cannot look past this game as the Lightning are dangerous at home with their crappy floor and Showtime pre-game fireworks. Further incentive for Joshua Springs is that they must win their last three games to make playoffs.
