Site News

Well, welcome one and all to the all-new what's new section. This is a helper for the dedicated who hang on my every word (of which there are approximately... none) and who visit my website daily in hopes that I've added something new. Well, on this page I will let you know everytime I put up something new, so you won't miss a one! Aren't you lucky! Right! Anyway!

(Oh, P.S. if you're interested in updates on the life of the webmistress, although I'm not quite sure why you would be, you can check them out at Webmistress News. And now, on with the show. Or back to our regularly scheduled programming. Or what you will. (Forever...) Sorry, random inside joke with myself. Yeah. Run away now, before it's too late.)

Sept. 9~ Posted CLUE 2003. Also updated Webmistress News, at long last. Yay first week of school!

July 23~ Added a new page, Questions About Voldemort's Wand. Also added a question about thestrals to Questions for J. K. Rowling, and a prediction about Mimbulus Mimbletonia as well as a few other minor things to Predictions for Book Six (which I also tried to make a bit more readable through the use of underlining) and the third movie's announced release date to Frequently Asked Questions. Bit by bit...

July 17~ Added announcement that my Uncle Bruce is the Official Coolest Person Ever of this website.

July 11~ Added some new characters to Anagrams of Characters' Names. Added a few minor details to Predictions for Book Six and Questions About Book Five.

July 7~ Added Mystery of Ravenclaw: A look at Ravenclaw and why we know so little about it.

July 6~ Finally posted Predictions for Book Six. Also updated the Site Index, so that's all up to date. Just a few more little touches, and we'll be done for a while. Or so we keep telling ourselves.

July 5~ Added a bunch of new pages today. O.W.L.s: a look at who might be getting what O.W.L.s come July, a site about the Possible Romances in Book Six, some Questions I have about book five, and a Review of The Fifth Book. All very interesting. Updated Webmistress News. Also did more rearranging of main page. All we've got left are the predictions for book six and some little stuff in response to all the corrections people have e-mailed me that I haven't got around to yet, and then we'll take a little break from webmistressing for a while. My neck is killing me!

July 4 (But still early)~ Well, a bit more today. Let's see, I added a few more people to the Potterpedia, including the authors of all the books that have been mentioned so far. And I updated Book 5 Predictions to include my analysis of how well each of my predictions fared against the book. I just topped 50%, which isn't terrible, I guess... Also small updates and changes to the FAQ page, the Upcoming Deaths page, and the Romances page. And added animals to the Menagerie. (Links to these can be found below; I'm too lazy right now to put them all up again.) Also, did some rearranging to the main page. In some ways made it easier, in other ways more complicated, but that's all right. Ooh, and I made big changes to Trelawney's First Prophecy: I actually posted the prophecy itself and some analysis, while retaining my original thoughts about what it might be. Still coming soon: A review of book five, including questions about it, predictions for book six, including O.W.L.s and Romances, and an update to Webmistress News. But those may have to wait a day or two.

July 3 (Just barely)~ Aha! At long last, my faithful and most patient fans, the post-Order of the Phoenix updates have begun! Much thanks to you all for waiting while I was out of town and internet contact. Today I have, for your viewing pleasure, posted the updates in the lists of characters, books, spells and potions, passwords, and Sorting Hat songs. Took me ages and ages, but I finally got it done. Coming soon, an update of my Predictions section, with an analysis of my predictions about book five and the precursors to my predictions about book six, whixh will be solidified after a discussion group I'll be hosting in the next few days. Hope this all helps!

May 31~ (Later) Even more updates! This one's exciting, too! I just received from the amazing Matt what appears to be the cover of the fifth book, so I've posted it on the Book Five Updates page, along with some speculation about this new magical room/world we're supposed to discover in the next book. Very exciting, check it out! And (even later, now) also on the Book Five Updates Page, some new information revealed on the Amazon page, including the identity of the new Gryffindor keeper! (But if you don't want to know, don't worry, you can still visit the page. I've hidden the information so you can't read it unless you want to.)

May 31~ Yes, yes, it's been a while. So sorry! College is a busy time/place. Ah, well, now 'tis summer, and we'll have a bit more time, at least. Certainly expect a number of substantial updates once book five is released. For now, I added a few more minor things/people to Possible Deaths in Book Five, Questions to Ask J. K. Rowling, and Potter Predictions. Speaking of which, one update I'll be doing for sure is going through my predictions and reporting on their accuracy once I've read book five. And then I'll start on predictions for book 6! :) It's always busy here at Potter Storm. Well, sometime less than others... But I've got time now, so now's your chance to send me all your brilliant suggestions, theories, etc. at dragonfyre52@hotmail.com. Thanks, end enjoy!

February 23~ Just put up a page about Who Might Die in Book Five.

January 23~ And a few official excerpts released for book five from the publishers themselves, proving that my previously posted excerpt was a fake. Also a confirmation of the June 21st release date. The title appears to be remaining Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and apparently it will be 768 pages, only 34 longer than the fourth book but one-third longer by word count. Can't quite decide if this is a good or a bad thing. Hopefully they made the print smaller or something, as opposed to using shorter words, which is another possibility... I'll include the two official excerpts on my page with the now proven false Excerpt From Book Five.

January 17~ This just in! According to a local newspaper, book five will be released on June 21st!

December 16~ Another little update: I decided to create a page of Questions I'd Like to Ask J. K. Rowling in one of those on-line chat interviews things she does now and then. It's not too extensive yet and I hope you'll help me out by e-mailing me any ideas for questions you have.

December 7~ Huge project today, because I've been hearing all these things that Rowling supposedly said about this or that and wanted to see for myself. So I spent many a good hour searching for interview transcripts with Rowling, and then copying out the interesting or telling comments, and then compiling them into different sections and posting them all on my new page, Rowling Reveals, which is quite intriguing and which you should take a look at if at all interested in what J. K. Rowling has to say on such subjects as book five, the wizarding world, future deaths, returning characters, hints in the books, romances, rumors, upcoming revelations, and much more!

December 4~ Updated Sexism in Harry Potter a bit, in the hopes of getting fewer "Harry's a boy; that's why there are more boys"-type responses and more "Hey, that's interesting, I never noticed there was so much stereotyping in the media. Let's talk about it"-type responses from that page. Also updated Webmistress News. And the Analysis of Whether the Excerpt is Authentic or Not. Decided it's fake, in my opinion at least, and put up a few more reasons other people have sent me. Perhaps most excitingly, finally put up Trelawney's Prophecy, a look at what Trelawney's first real prophecy might have been. Check it out and give me your thoughts! And finally, some general cleaning up--updating About Me and the main page, and moving some stuff around. Spring cleaning, you know...

November 17~ Discovered address to which to direct inquiries about casting for the third Harry Potter movie and posted it here, because I love you.

November 16~ I went and saw the second Harry Potter movie last night, and, in short, it was glorious. And, because I love you all so much, I've already put up my responses to the film, at Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: The Movie. Other updates are still pending, and include a look at Trelawney's previous true prediction and the Educational Theory of Harry Potter, but they may be a while in coming, as I'm trying rather desperately to finish a play for a December 1st deadline, along with classes and a one-act. But enjoy what you've got, and have a happy holiday!

November 5~ A few quick updates based on some new info I got from a great website that I was just directed to, Harry Potter Lexicon. So I added Harry's middle name and Ron and Hermione's birthdays, as well as Davey Gudgeon, who I'd forgotten to include, to the Potterpedia. I also added notes to the Hermione and Ron and the Harry and Ginny sections of Romances in Harry Potter page. And updated Webmistress News. (Links below).

October 24~ There have been several updates to Webmistress News. Including one just moments ago. But the most exciting updates for today were my posting of An Excerpt From Book Five and An Analysis of Whether the Excerpt is Authentic or Not. You should check this out! And I updated the Questions and Possible Problems page with the many detailed and insightful comments of my uncle Bruce. I'm also working on a few more pages, which should be up in the next couple of days. Wow, a spark of activity after a long period of little to no updating. How exciting!

September 15~ Haven't done much on the site, but perhaps soon. Just watched the trailer for the second movie, so perhaps I'll put something about that up. For now, most of my updates over the past month have been on my Webmistress News page. Which you should check out. That's all for now!

August 19th~ I put up the CLUE Mystery Play 2002!!! Highly exciting, and it took me a long time to manually convert it to html, so I hope you get some enjoyment out of it. As always, if you're interested you're welcome to perform it, and if you can't copy it off the site, you can e-mail me and I'll send you the script. Bruce, you might be interested in reading this if only to see how it was supposed to go and how we altered it unintentionally or improvisationally.

August 18th~ I put a new update on Webmistress News. Also fixed some problems and changed the intro on the About Me page. CLUE 2002 will be up in the next day or so.

July 26~ Realized a mistake on the FAQ page, under what the next book will be called, and fixed it. Also updated the Site Index and started the page for CLUE 2002. The play itself won't be up for another week, though. But the title's up. Bruce.

July 25~ It's been a crazy summer, and I've finally had a chance to do some long-overdue updates. Let's see... I've fixed the info about the books and movies in the FAQ page, I updated the Questions page with some answers I was sent, I changed the Parents page Revised version, which my uncle Bruce diligently sent me a copy of, I updated the About Me, Theater, and Cross Country pages to reflect my new circumstances. But my biggest change was the destruction of the old newsletter, which, for reasons explained on the new site, I was unable to continue. I replaced that site with what will be a periodic update on my life and activities, which can be found at Webmistress News. That'll be all for a bit, except this year's new CLUE play, which I'll put up after it's been performed. Then I'll be pretty busy until I've settled in to college.

May 14~ Has it really been three months? Holy cow! Still busy, but it's getting better. I did a slight update to the Theater page, and a little more is to come. Generally enjoying life, especially looking forward to a very fun Prom for which I am making my own dress, and also very happy at a reestablished contact with an old and wonderful friend. More updates, one day, really! Oh, but I read an article about the next Harry Potter book, which basically said she didn't know when she'd be done, but it certainly wouldn't be any time soon. Looks like it may be not this summer but the next! The movie of book 2, on the other hand, is right on schedule to come out November 15. Matrix Reloaded, to my dismay, not until summer 2003! :'(

Febraury 9~ Changed the Newsletter page, put up all the old newsletters on it, and updated the Books To Read While You Wait page.

February 8~ For someone who had pretty much run out of things to put up I've been pretty busy with this site for the past week. I've put up a bunch of new pages, about: The last lines of Elements of Style, Footprints in the Sand, Pumpkins, Rocks, and Writing Tips. I also rejuvenated My Faith Page and Is Harry Potter of the Occult? and created The Writing Corner. I updated the Site Index, and now, perhaps, I am done for a while.

February 2~ Happy Groundhog's Day! I saw MY shadow, so presumably the Great Groundhog saw his, meaning we have six more weeks of winter. Now, I don't know about you, but this has always seemed to me to fly in the face of any logic. If you see your shadow, then the sun is out, so wouldn't that mean spring is coming? This has always irked me. Anyway, applications are in and interviews are done and I now pretty much get to sit and wait for April and acceptances and rejections. Meanwhile, I'm starting track, and TOFU Club is preparing for its airband debut with a commercial medley that has high potential to rock, and even win, thanks to the awesome Kyla-ography and the supercool, spirited, if occassionally easily distracted club members. So what's new with the site? Pas beaucoup, besides that I updated my About Me page, which desperately needed it, along with Theater and Cross Country and moved all three onto the angelfire site from expage. I also updated the FAQ page a bit and put a cool transition thing on the main page which may become highly annoying but at the moment amuses me highly. :)

January 21~ Well, I fixed some stuff up: finished the site index, put up a collage of movie characters (actually did that a while ago...), did the scene commentary and put up the rest of the pictures on the movie page, and added (well, moved in from my old site) two new pages of randomness: The Truth About Kiwanos and Computer Psychology 101. And I added a new book to the suggestions of books to read while you wait: Lemony Snicket! Sadly, I don't have many big plans for future updates. I do have some time, though, so if you've any suggestions, I'll be glad to entertain them. (I've just learned to juggle; that's always entertaining!) So send them to dragonfyre52@hotmail.com!

December 14~ Not too much big in the way of new stuff: I updated the 'Pedia and put up Potions on the Spells page (thanks to Lisl) and some new books in the Library. But i have made one momentous, and perhaps tragic decision: I will not make the Adventure Game. Sorry to have to do this. If you'd like an explanation as to why, see the FAQ page.

December 7~ Finished the character analysis on the movie page, and fixed some mistakes and made some additions on the Potterpedia. I also put up a page I made ages ago but never put up: Anagrams of the names of some characters. Oh! And I put up one more romance on that page, too... Aren't you proud?

December 4~ Just had a spare moment, so I tossed up a page with a bookmark for Christians who are Harry Potter fans, which can be found here I also put up a few new links, including a very cool version of Quidditch. Enjoy!

November 27~ Holy Cow it's been a while! I really have updated stuff since July, I'm pretty sure, but it's been minor... Well, I've put up a Frequently Asked Question page, and I've begun writing my review of the Movie. More minorly, I've added Harry Potter to the Potterpedia, and George (or Fred) and Angelina to the Romance page (as well as a discussion of the possibilities of Love Potions in future books). I have done some other stuff, too, but I forget what... and I'm working on a new Site Index. College Apps still loom, so it'll be a while before there are any major updates, but someday, someday...

July 18~ I know, I know, I promised the Adventure Game... it's coming, I promise... But I have to start over, because I lost the notes I had, including the site address where I had already started... :( But I did revise Harry's Parents, including versions of the original and revised Parents-Wand passage. I alos put up a play I wrote recently here, although if you're in my family and going up to watch it next week, you'd better not peek...

May 16~ Gasp! It's almost over... in about one more week, I'll be free. Meanwhile, today I got a quick chance to fix up a few old things, as well as to add a few new: So You've Never Read Harry Potter, Dumbledore's Gleam, Romance in Harry Potter, More Occult Rebuttals, Owlery, The Mystery of Harry's Parents' Death, Passwords, Gender Roles in Society, and Spells. Hope you like them!

April 30~ I know, I know, it's been about a trillion years. I blame the public education system. Actually, not necessarily the whole system, just my school administration is to blame, really... In any case, I promise in three short weeks APs will be over and I will get moving with all sorts of fun stuff. In the meantime, well, you'll just have to survive somehow. To be notified when exciting changes start to happen once more, e-mail me at dragonfyre52@hotmail.com and let me know. I have put up a few new things since October, i just can't remember what they are, You'll have to figure it out for yourself. Sorry. Three weeks, I promise!

October 4~ Sorry I haven't updated in a while, school has started and life is hectic... Plus, I've been creating another website, which you can see at http://angelfire.com/me3/goat It's a site about me and a couple iof friends and our, er, exploits. So check that out. Also, I haven't mentioned this here, but I put up homework and an Owlery at Hogwarts but a massive update and rehaul of that is coming pretty soon. I promise!

September 2~ Put up Is Harry Potter of the Occult? under Commentary and Hermione Corner under Etc.

August 28~Added all sorts of new stuff on my all new Potter page (see Aug 26) I added a Honeydukes, a Library, an Encyclopedia, a list of Spells, and a Magical Menagerie. I also added an essay about sexism in Harry Potter under Commentary. There may not be an update for a bit, as I am about to start school, plus I'm pouring my time into the Harry Potter Adventure Game, coming soon!

August 26~ Just reformatted my whole Harry Potter page, now called Potter Storm and should be a lot more organized. You can now also join Hogwarts!

August 21~ Updates in News About the Movie (Casting!) and an all-new Potter Predictions where I predict stuff in upcoming books

July 28~ Now you can sign up for a regular newsletter! Yippee skippee!

July 25~ Lots of new news... Updated all sorts of stuff in the past few weeks: Split the page into Potter Storm and Muggleside. Updated news about the movie and book, put up the hebrephrenia page in the asylum, made Harry and Hermione and Why Hermione Rocks Updated HappyHolidays... Have fun checking that all out, take two of those and call me in the morning.

July 14~ Hey y'all. Just got back from three weeks in Berkeley acting my brains out. It was a lot of fun. Anywho, I didn't add anything but I realized I didn't mention a bunch of stuff I added before, such as IS is, an original play, which is really funny especially if you were in my cazy english class last year, as well as Schizophrenia:The Many Sides Of Me (very good) and an index of the site. All very good, I recommend it highly.

May 24~ Put up a couple new popular episodes, I think there are three new ones in the archives. Get there through About Me, then go to My Favorite TV Show.

May 21~ Did a bunch of stuff today. Put up three of the mental illnesses in the Asylum, also put up a play in the Asylum, and made an index (more for me than for you...) Also, not on-line, I did some crazy stuff, the normalest of which was eating watermelon and sparkling cider at one thirty am... It's been an interesting day...

April 28~ Well, I'm about to go watch last night's Popular, so never fear, that willbe up soon.. Got some other fun stuff in the works, too, somewhat of a conglomeration In-Sane Asylum (Join the revolution! Write in-sane with a dash!) For now, excitement lies in the New and Improved (!) guest book! Ooh, la la!

April 25~ Found the WB movie website... see Links page. Also added to News About the Movie.

April 24~ (Actually, I did all this a long time ago but forgot to put it on here...) I reworked the opening thing again, although I'm not quite satisfied. I added The Kiwanos Are Coming, as well as some brand spanking new links such as my favorite surrealist painter. Perhaps broadcasting this on the web would be detrimental to my future anonimity, but I plan to be a surrealist graffitist when I grow up. (If that ever occurs) I missed the last (finally) new Popular episode, and, due to a series of uncontrollably tragic events, it didn't get taped. *sniff*

* (And an on the minute update, I just added (because this site got full) What's Old? See bottom of this page.)

April5~I renamed the site, which is pretty big, and took several stages. But I'm happy with the new name, not quite so obsessed seeming. I added Demosthenes' essay "Creative Asphyxia" under Composition, a new Strange Page Of The Week site in Links, and put an urgent warning up: The Kiwanos Are Coming! Beware! (This can be found muggleside)

What's Old?

* ~ * Back to Potter Storm * ~ *

Everything on this site is copyright 2000 by October. I don't know why you would want to steal THIS page, since there's no way it could apply to your site, but hey! Actually, go ahead, steal this stuff. It all just links back to my site... Woohoo, free links! I'm normal...

E-mail me for suggestions of What Else Should Be New!
