Anyone can become a Disney fan! By Kez
Greetings, ladies and gentlemen, men and mice. It is my priviledged duty to inform you that, within my own experience and years of research (actually, just my own experience) I have determined that any average type can be turned into a Disneyphile, or at least a casual fan.
Take my mother for example. Before 1994, she never really thought twice about Disney. Now that I've become a fan, I've got her running around the Disney Store, screaming and foaming with the best of them. (Sorry mum.) She can now enter into a trivia fight and last at least 2 minutes, and will more than happily run around in mouse ears, counting down the days till the next Disney animated feature and wondering how she can convince my dad that he really does want to go on another trip to Disneyland.
Then there are my friends. One of them didn't really care either way. Two were actually Disney fans, but casual kind of fans. Then there was ... GASP ... the ANTI-DISNEY. Now all four of them (yes, I have four friends!) have become crazed Disneyphiles. Not as bad as me, admittedly, and one of them did give me a Look when she spotted Mickey
next to my locker on "Bring a Mouse to School Day", but they all know the difference between Ling and Snow White, that much I can say, and they even care! The two who were casual fans now accompany me to the Disney Store and happily engage in three day DisneyFests at my house, where we watch a good portion of my 80 Disney videos, wear mouse ears and see any Disney movies which may be on at the cinemas at that time. The one who didn't care either way now 'worships' Snow White, squeals when she sees my Talking Eeyore or Giant Mickey, and won't let my stuffed Cheshire Cat go when she comes into contact with him. The one who was an Anti-Disney was spotted at the Disney Princess/Heroine Party I had on my 'Unbirthday' last year, bopping away with the Original Disney Fan and me to
"Trashin' The Camp", saying "It's a shame there aren't more crazed Disney fans here!"
I was soooo proud ...
