I had these thoughts emailed to me from Diznenut on why Belle is the best.

  • she is strong, self willed, and at times stubborn
  • she was the first heroine to take the time to pull her hair back into a ponytail
  • she gets to wear that beautiful yellow gown
  • she reminds me of a classic Southern belle
  • and lets face it, who else gets to use a talking teacup?

I agree with all of these and also love Belle for the fact that she was able to see past the Beast's physical appearance, because she's sweet and caring and always kind, intelligent and well-read, and of course for her great dress sense! -- the red dress, the green, the blue, and of course the yellow!

A reader and huge Beauty and the Beast fan emailed this to me: Disney is re-opening "Beauty and the Beast" at IMAX theatres next year. The re-released version includes "Human Again", which was written for the original version and not used, but can be heard in Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical. (Which rocks!)
