On the 1850 census, George and his family had living with them, Augustine
Silvester, 56, laborer; Jacob Keen, 21, farmer, Jacob Raulerson, 28, farmer.
George's 1 year old son was listed as a 'glove maker'. This was probably the
occupation of Augustine. (George's mothers maiden name was Silvester).
George served in the Indian Wars twice, He was Lieutenant in Capt. Simon
Howard's company of Georgia Militia, 10 Sep 1836, and 2nd Corporal in Capt.
James A. Sweat's company of Ware County Militia in 1838. He moved to Columbia
County Florida, in 1844, settling near Suwannee Shoals, remaining there for the
rest of his life. George applied for Indian War pension 22 Aug 1892. Pension
was granted. His widow, Rebecca applied 8 May 1911, and was granted.
