Notes:
1785: Isaac arrived in Stokes along with his father, David Sr. He bought land
on Old Field Creek, near Germantown, along Baux Mountain Road. Isaac may have
died of Ptomaine poisoning from bad deer meat. He is buried on his home farm.
Isaac was a lawyer, and represented Stokes County in the legislature, the
General Assembly, for two sessions. Isaac died without issue.

1824 May 6: Isaac's will recorded in Stokes Co., N.C., Will Book 3, page 118,

Madison Dalton; brother Jonathan Dalton (deceased), nephew Isaac Dalton, nephew
John F. Carr, niece Nancy Ladd. Also mentions Francis Carter, (relationship
unknown), and Absolum Bostick Jr. Sister Elizabeth Carr. Wife and brother David
Executors. Wit: Willis Pilkinton, David Westmoreland and Christian Kochler.

Gabriels marriage to Mary Caller was dissolved. Her brother James, faught a duel
with Gabriel, to defend her honour.
Gabriel practiced law in Huntsville AL, was U.S. Congress man 1821-1829, Gov.
of Alabama 1829-1831, U.S. Senator 1831-1834. Moved to Caddo Tx 1843.
