Cut to More Fan Fiction

Emergency, which ran from 1971-1978, follows the adventures of the paramedics at Station 51, LA Fire Department. At the time, the paramedic service was relatively new and had to be guided by medical personal, in this case from the staff of Rampart Hospital.

Starring Randolph Mantooth as Johnny Gage and Kevin Tighe as his partner Roy DeSoto, the show went for 7 seasons, and spawning a spin off telemovies. Careful attention was paid to realism; and while the show was credited with actually saving lives as people would use techniques shown on the show in emergency situations, in later seasons, disclaimers were added to the credits warning that such procedures should only be attempted by qualified personel.
