Buffy the Vampire Slayer was originally a comedy movie that wasn't all that popular, and only main draw was the fact that Luke Perry Dylan, BH 90210) was in it.

However, in 1997 Joss Whedon created a spin-off television series that was slightly darker than the movie, and a lot more popular.

In 1999 a spin-off series called Angel was created
