24 is a highly successful show with an interesting and unique stucture: events occur in real time. Each season runs for 24 episodes, and each episode represents one hour in the day, and the time is shown at various points in the episode—especially at the beginning and end of commercial/ad breaks. It is set in Los Angeles, and follows the day of Jack Bauer, federal agent of the fictitious CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit) as he tries to save the United States and bring down the terrorist threatening the country in that season. Tensions run high, Jack is quite often on the run from his own government; and there are twists and turns almost every episode to keep fans on their toes.

Starring Kiefer Sutherland (The Three Musketeers, Young Guns) as Jack, and featuring many illustrious guest stars as Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, The Goonies) Jon Voigt, and Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy), 24 has garnered and accolades, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominations during its run. Its innovative style has made it very popular.
